Groups can include guests with very different mobility levels, so guides need to remain mindful of the whole group and regularly check that everyone is able to keep up comfortably. On this particular day, the ship’s docking schedule meant that the available time in Bordeaux was more limited than usual. The guide therefore had to balance the guided visit with allowing guests some independent time for lunch and exploring the city, while also ensuring the group returned to the ship safely and on time. For travellers who prefer to explore independently and at their own pace, we also offer a “Bordeaux On Your Own” option, which includes transportation between Le Verdon cruise port and Bordeaux without the guided city tour. On your date, the ship’s shorter time in port meant that we had to operate the 7-hour version of the excursion. Within the available docking time, we did our best to include the main highlights while allowing as much free time as possible and ensuring a safe return to the ship. Whenever the ship’s schedule permits, this excursion runs for 8 hours, giving guests more time to explore Bordeaux independently after the guided walking tour. We appreciate your comments regarding the microphone and completely understand how important it is for all guests to be able to hear the guide clearly, especially in a busy city environment. We have shared your feedback with our local team to help ensure this is addressed for future tours. We would also like to clarify the group-size concern. The advertised maximum of 35 guests refers to each guided walking group, not the total number of guests travelling from the port. In fact, on this date each guide had only around 20 guests per group. Unfortunately, one of our three buses experienced an unexpected technical issue, requiring us to reorganise the passengers between the remaining buses, which caused the delay. To compensate, we extended the tour by 15 minutes. On the day of your excursion, one of the three coaches experienced an unexpected mechanical issue. To ensure that the tour could still operate and that all guests could participate, we had to quickly reorganize the transportation arrangements and accommodate passengers from the affected coach on the remaining buses. Unfortunately, this resulted in delays and larger-than-planned transfers before arriving in Bordeaux, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We also appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the coach and have shared this feedback with our local transportation partners. Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We understand that the journey from Le Verdon Cruise Port to Bordeaux is quite long. Unfortunately, the port is located about two hours from the city, and there isn't a way to shorten the travel time. We truly wish there were!
