The guide Walid was very knowledgeable and nice. The tour itself was frustrating, due to distance time restraints every stop was too rushed. It's more of a at a glance then a look and see with absolutely no time to read anything. This is at no fault to the tour guide. This is a reflection on the tour as it tried to pack in too many stops in a short time period. I have pictures of things i don't even know what they are. Alot of time was wasted getting on and off the bus when some places were only a city block away from each other.
Dear Guest. Thank you for sharing your feedback and for highlighting Walid’s knowledge and kindness. He’ll be delighted to hear that. We're sorry to hear that parts of the tour felt rushed and that you felt you didn't have enough time to fully enjoy some of the sights. As this shore excursion is designed for cruise passengers with limited time in port, our goal is to showcase as many of Berlin's key landmarks as possible. We understand, however, that some guests would prefer a slower pace with more time at fewer locations. For those seeking a more relaxed and flexible experience, we also offer private excursions with timing tailored to your group's interests. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will help us continue refining our tours. Thank you again for sharing your experience and exploring Berlin with us.
This was hands down one of the best shore excursions we have ever taken. We were visiting from the Carnival Legend and wanted a tour that would allow us to see the major highlights of Berlin while also spending meaningful time at Sachsenhausen Memorial. This tour exceeded every expectation. Our guide, Mikhail Kazbekov, was exceptional. His knowledge of Berlin, German history, and the events surrounding World War II was remarkable. He presented difficult historical topics with professionalism, respect, and compassion while keeping the tour engaging and informative throughout the day. The visit to Sachsenhausen was incredibly moving and educational. Mikhail provided historical context that helped us understand not only what happened there, but also the broader impact on Germany and the world. His explanations brought the history to life in a way that books and documentaries simply cannot. In Berlin, we were able to see many of the city’s most important landmarks and learn fascinating stories behind them. The transportation was comfortable, the timing was well planned, and we always felt confident that we would return to our ship on time. For cruise passengers looking for a comprehensive Berlin experience that includes Sachsenhausen, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Mikhail was one of the finest guides we have encountered anywhere in Europe, and he turned what could have been a great excursion into an unforgettable one. Thank you, Mikhail, for an incredible day and for sharing your knowledge, passion, and professionalism with our group.
We were privileged to have Nick as our guide. Nick was the best tour guide we have had. He is informative, pleasant, knowledgeable… and provided us with so much interesting details along the way. We all learnt so much. It was an extraordinary experience, thank you. Giving this experience 20 stars out of ten.
We stopped at the concentration camp on the way to Berlin so this was our first stop on the tour. There was so much that I never knew about the camps prior to Auschwitz. I was a little shook by the atrocities I heard, and saw .This stop tells another story that most of us know nothing about. Our guides name was Walid and he was phenomenal. He knew so much about everything, whether it be the camps, or all the history from each attraction on out tour. We spent about 8 hours with our guide and he was more than we could have hoped for. After leaving the camp it was a somber mood on the bus but our guide kept us on the edge of our seat for more knowledge. Be prepared for up and down the steps of the bus to physically walk and see all Berlin has to offer. I think we had ample time everywhere we stopped and bathrooms were free in the places he took us. Also, there are very little shopping opportunities for souvenirs unless you grab something at Checkpoint Charlie. That is where our stop was for lunch and shopping but there was only 30 to 40 minutes given. Their main goal is to give you all of their knowledge and get you back to the ship without worry of missing it. We left promptly at 8:30 a.m. and returned back to the ship about 8:15 p.m. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Berlin wanting to know everything from the Good, Bad, and The Ugly.
Fantastic tour! Learnt a lot about the history of Berlin. Walid was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to learn the rich history of Berlin.
Our guide was Nick and he joined us at Sachsenhousen. Nick gave detailed explanations, which we really appreciate. We continued into Berlin, after the camp and he kept the same level of depth and professionalism. It was a long day, but indeed one of the most meaningful tours we’ve ever taken.
Hello, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! Nick truly is our gem, and we’re delighted to hear that he made such a positive impact on your day. This tour is very special to us, as it deals with important history, and we take great pride in providing meaningful experiences while keeping the memory alive. Thank you again for sharing your experience! Natalia Vexperio
At the start, at the cruise terminal, we were greeted by the representatives and taken to the bus, which was clean and comfortable. The guide Waleed was amazing.
Hello, Thank you so much for your kind words! Walid truly is amazing—the spirit of Berlin in the flesh, haha! We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour, and we hope to see you again soon. Warm regards, Natalia Vexperio
Waleed was our guide and he was outstanding. He clearly knows the history very deeply and explained everything with so much care. Sachsenhausen is emotionally heavy, but absolutely important to visit. The only small thing is that I wish we had maybe 20 more minutes inside the memorial, although I understand the schedule is tight because of the long drive. Overall, 5 stars without a doubt, and at half the price offered by our cruise ship.
Our guide, I’m so sorry I don’t remember his name, was absolutely wonderful. He was friendly, engaging, and clearly knows Berlin inside and out. He’s been living there for over twenty years, and you could really tell he spoke from experience. Throughout the day, he shared such rich historical background, both at the camp and later as we toured Berlin’s landmarks. It was an intense and deeply moving experience, one of those days that really stays with you. It was a long day and quite a drive from the port, but it was worth every minute. We had a great time and learned so much. Truly a memorable tour!
Nick was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable about the history of the Sachsenhauen. Visiting this place will not easily be forgotten. Berlin has alot of history to absorb and 1 day is not enough.
