ナチス・ドイツが開催した1936年のオリンピックでは、奴隷労働者はナチスの政敵を拘束する目的で、ベルリンのすぐ北に新たな強制収容所を建設することを余儀なくされた。 この収容所はザクセンハウゼンであり、その後の10年間で約20万人が収容所内に収容されたが、1945年にソビエトによって立ち退かされた。 さらに5年間、ソビエトはこの収容所を利用して、ナチスやナチスの協力者を含む6万人の戦犯を収監した。

Went on a trip in uni and this was one of our tours. Xavier was a really good guide. He presented us with heaps of information, remained emotionally sensitive, answered any and all our questions and was just overall a great guide. He also gave us context for the train ride, pointed out the effects on the surrounding areas and made sure to point out parts that were propaganda or don't encapsulate the full spectrum of events. Would definitely recommend.
