Judah and his wife Shevy were amazing host! We saw over 15 whales and it was an incredible experience!!

What an incredible experience! Capt. Judah and the crew were knowledgeable and genuinely interested in our receiving the best whale watch possible. We started the day with a complete fog cover but the Island Cat steered through it to clear, sunny skies and we saw many humpbacks--mother and calf, sleeping giants, showy tails and entertaining tales to understand whale and marine behavior. We also saw sea lions sunning on a small island. The boat is comfortable and viewing from the decks or cabin is excellent. The small group size makes it easy to feel welcome, with a captain eager to find the best spots and time for everyone to see the wildlife. Lunch wraps, chips and self-serve drinks were perfect for the trip and tasty. It was gratifying to know we were supporting locally-owned businesses. Next trip to Ketchikan, we will go with Capt. Judah again! Whether you're on a cruise ship looking for an excursion or headed to Ketchikan on your own--WHALES AND LUNCH is the experience to choose.

Whale watching was at the top of my husband's list for our Alaska cruise. We booked whales and lunch in May 2026 (For our September 2026 cruise). We showed up at 8am and called the owner and he let us know that he had cancelled it the night before because we were the only ones who booked and the tour minimum wasn't met. If we would have had at least 24 hours notice maybe we could have found another whale watching tour. Don't count on this tour as your only whale watching experience.

I cannot stress enough how incredible this tour is. If you are in Ketchikan and are wanting to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity - this is absolutely it… From start to finish this was everything my wife & I expected and more.. The tour was very natural, with lots of time out at see & the boat was pristine. We were able to take all our photos and even got airdropped photos from the drone!!

This experience was fantastic. Judah was a great host and fun to travel with. We were able to see bubble feeding and he knew where to go to see this. We were lucky enough that the whale "Phoenix" even breeched feeding in the harbor right before we left. It was a raining much of the time but the boat is comfortable, warm and well appointed for his guests. There were 6 of us so we were spoiled. I can't rate this tour high enough. Do this you will not regret it.

Had to be the best whale watch we’ve ever had. We’ve been to Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska many times. The boat was in great shape and Captain Judah shared his excitement for whales through the whole journey. They selected local place for lunch and it was truly delicious. Judah is now our go to captain in Ketchikan. You will not be disappointed having Lunch and Whaled.

Great experience. Got to see whales. Was lost trying to find the boat. The captain meet me an took me to the boat.

Absolutely the best whale watching outfit in Alaska. We saw a pod of Orcas. The boat is extremely comfortable and fast. Why fast matters, the whales were spotted on the south side and we were far north.

We had the captain /owner Jonah take us out and saw both humpback whales and some harbor seals. I learned what whale breath smells like. The lunch was a sandwich and chips which was OK, but honestly you’re not there for the food. The trip was safe and educational. Highly recommended.

Wow. Ocean was flat calm, slight breeze. Saw a deer swimming in the ocean. Chelsea was such a great deckhand, Peppered in fun facts and neat explanations to help everyone learn about whales and Southeast Alaska. Judah was spot on sighting whales. Also toured when Kassidy was deckhand earlier this month, calm demeanor with good sense of humor. Drone footage was amazing, just watching how Judah operated it! Saw pod of Orcas that floated for extended periods of time! First time ever saw that. Also observed sea lions and seals. With water so smooth it looked like glass…could just see forever and so calm and magical. It was an incredible experience. Then the fellow passengers!!! We all bonded and shared this moment. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you.
