I had seen so many videos on social media of Chinese knotting and the beautiful, delicate decorations and jewellery people create with it, so I specifically searched for a workshop while I was in Shanghai and found this one. I really enjoyed the workshop. The teacher guided me through the techniques step by step and gave me plenty of time to practise. It was very satisfying to see the knots gradually come together. What I liked most was that I was learning a technique that I can continue practising at home. I’m already looking forward to trying different knots and making more pieces myself. A really enjoyable and rewarding experience, especially if you’re interested in traditional crafts and want to learn something you can continue after your trip.
Thank you for your wonderful review, we’re so happy you enjoyed the workshop with us and left inspired to continue creating your own pieces at home!
I really enjoyed the workshop, it was relaxing, creative, and easy to join on my own, with plenty of guidance throughout the process. One of my favourite parts was choosing from the different jade stones to add to my bracelet. There were lots of styles to choose from, and I also learned that different colours can carry different meanings and symbolism in Chinese culture. It made the experience feel much more personal. It was great to leave with something I had made myself and meaningful from Shanghai.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you enjoyed learning about the cultural symbolisms, and we hope your handmade bracelet remains a special reminder of your time in Shanghai.
Me and my friend went to this knotting workshop for a relaxing afternoon activity in Shanghai, and we had such a lovely time. It was fun learning the different steps. We made bracelets for each other, which made the experience even more special. It was satisfying when everything finally came together, and we both left wearing something handmade by the other person, a much more meaningful souvenir than something bought from a shop! It was also a nice opportunity to slow down and learn a little about traditional Chinese knotting. A great activity to do with a friend and a lovely memory to take home from Shanghai.
Thank you for your lovely review! We’re delighted that you and your friend enjoyed learning Chinese knotting together, and we hope the bracelets you made for each other will be a special reminder of your time in Shanghai!
I’m really glad I decided to visit this place. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, and you can feel that they genuinely love what they do. The experience felt authentic, creative, and very enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really happy you enjoyed the workshop and felt the warmth of our team, it means a lot to us. Hope to welcome you again next time you’re in Shanghai!
Went to a Chinese knotting workshop with friends and it turned out to be a really nice way to spend the evening. There were six of us, and we were making red bracelets together. It was Valentine's Day. While we were making knots, the host shared a beautiful story from Chinese tradition about the “red thread of fate.” According to the legend, people are born with an invisible red thread tied to them, and the other end is connected to the person they are meant to meet. The thread can stretch or get tangled, but it never breaks. I find the idea very romantic. The workshop lasted around an hour or a bit more, which felt just right, relaxed and not rushed. The atmosphere was very cozy, almost like being at someone’s home. It was calm, creative, and easy to enjoy the process while chatting with friends. The host was very friendly and patient, explaining the techniques and helping when someone got stuck. It left a really warm impression. It’s a great activity both for people who have just arrived in Shanghai and want to try something cultural, and for those who have lived here for a while and simply want to spend a quiet evening doing something creative with their hands in good company
Thank you for such a beautiful and thoughtful review! We’re so glad you chose to spend your Valentine’s Day with us. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the story of the red thread of fate and the cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Creating meaningful moments like these is exactly what we hope for. We’d love to welcome you and your friends back again soon!
