This is such a fun & intriguing experience. The place is absolutely packed full of oddities. From medical posters & models to taxidermy & weird toys. It's chock-full of the bizarre & outright creepy. Feels like being in a sideshow alley C 1880. We had a great time. A welcome reprieve from the heavy, accademia exhibits we attended the day prior.
Incredible. I have no other words. Paul is an experienced and very interesting collector, and his collection is wonderful.
We've given this site a "4", but it will be a "5" for many visitors and some will be completely lost. The Museum of Curiousities has been open for just over a year. It is a collection of oddities acquired over the course of years that the collector finally housed here. The museum is well named as it is indeed full of curiousities. The museum itself is fairly compact - three rooms, but all are packed with ununusual objects. If you like 2-headed cows, "Fiji mermaids", odd dolls, strange taxidermy, clown dolls gone wrong, etc. you will love this place. If not, it may not be for you. We were here for a little over an hour and took lots of pictures to send home. The museum is just a few blocks from sites such as Trinity College or the Irish Gallery of Art. We found it to be a lot of fun. Kids should love it.
Only Ok. Not The Biggest Museum. Admission fee was expensive. €15.00. Not many floors to see here.
This place is small and simple - ostensibly a converted house of wood-chip wallpaper and weird sh**. But in its own unique, inimitable way, it has a charm about it. And it’s fair to say, it lives up to its name. There is some VERY curious stuff there. Reception staff are passionate, give you a quick intro and share some of their favourite oddities (although I wonder if they might chose some of the even weirder stuff to begin?). You can then womble at leisure through two downstairs rooms and a larger upstairs room pretty packed with bizarre and interesting paraphernalia. Explanatory info is short and sweet but informative. My only criticism is that - although perhaps in keeping - most of the display cabinets are as decrepit as the curios. Better cabinets, with clean glass and adequate lighting would take this clearly personal and passionate venture to the next stage… But it is fun and I would recommend.
Cute lil spooky museum! I ended up spending about 45min looking around and reading all the placards. Wish it had a gift shop!
Visited with my grandson who reckoned it was the best ever, cool vibe. He was fascinated by the exhibits and the stories behind them. Easy to find and good value. The staff and owner were very welcoming. Visit duration about an hour or so.
Good but a little expensive for time passes on site.
An absolutely AMAZING place to do absolutely in Dublin especially if you like the unusual and original places. Small but with so many unlikely objects to discover in every corner of the museum that you won’t know where to put your head. I was there with my 16 year old son who also loved it. Big crush ❤️
A truly original and fun visit. The museum is small but crammed with exceptional exhibits, from haunted dolls to barnum bizarres, medical quackery to weird sculptures. Allow an hour at least, you'll have a ball
