Sorin was our tour guide for the day. He was knowledgeable of the area and provided us a lot of information as we drove. We had a 6 year old with us, who loves to joke, and Sorin played along with him very well, which I really appreciate! It's a long ride so I appreciate the effort in keeping my son entertained. Sorin adjusted our itinerary on the fly as we discussed things we'd love to see. In addition to the original itinerary, Sorin was able to fit in a stop to see the Puffins, the dwarfs cliff to see basalt columns (it's in the middle of nowhere and it was beautiful), and took us to another fall that was about a 10 min walk from Seljalandsfoss. Both waterfall was amazing! Sorin also tried to add in the amphibian boat tour at the Glacier Lagoon for us but unfortunately, all the boat tours that day were cancelled due to wind. Instead, we spent more time there admiring the beauty of the lagoon. Because the Puffin site close at 7 pm, we only had a short time at Reynisfjara beach before heading over to see the Puffins. Once we got to the site, we saw a lot of Puffins at the edge of the cliff. They were flying and gliding so fast! Most were hanging out at the edge so we were able to take a few pictures. It was very windy but was worth it! By the time we got back to our hotel, it was about 11pm. Somehow our tour ended up to be 16 hrs but it went by so quickly! I still think about this tour a lot. The waterfalls were just amazing. Amazing is an understatement. Pictures doesn't do its justice. If you're thinking about this tour, just do it. Having a private tour means flexibility. Let them know what you like to see most and they will work with you.

Very nice day, fantastic weather. Guide was very approachable and had thought of everything. Also a last minute change in the schedule was no problem. We had put together a schedule to a number of places where standard tours usually do not come, super cool that this was possible thanks to North Escape. We look back on this day with great pleasure and warmly recommend this company.

It was such an amazing and memorable experience. Every stop along the way was so unique and magical. Alex was our guide and he was great, his attention to detail and adaptability to what we wanted to see and do was perfect, he made the prefect itinerary so we could make the most of our time, and even helped me days before the tour to prepare my proposal to my girlfriend which turned out really special. Best guide and tour you’ll find.

Alex of North Escape gave us the best day we could ask for. We wanted a one day Southern Coast tour that included Diamond beach and Glacier Lagoon. From start to finish Alex took great care of us. He is relaxed and accommodating. Informative and a great photographer. We saw all the highlights in a relaxed and comfortable manner. And was able to fit in a meal at the lava crust pizza in Vik! We have great memories and photos from a fantastic day in this beautiful country. Highly recommend. If you can swing it, choose a private tour with Alex as your guide. He is an excellent safe driver as well.

We took the 14-hour Southern Coast tour in Iceland, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking—waterfalls, black sand beaches, glaciers, and dramatic landscapes that felt otherworldly. One of the most memorable stops was Diamond Beach, where chunks of glacial ice were scattered across the black sand, sparkling like diamonds against the shoreline. It was surreal and stunning, and we had plenty of time to take it all in, walk along the beach, and take photos—it felt like something you’d only ever see in Iceland. What really made the experience outstanding, though, was our guide, Aleksandrs. He was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about Iceland. He shared fascinating history, and local stories throughout the long day, kept everything running smoothly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. Despite the length of the tour, it never felt rushed or exhausting. Aleksandrs paced the day perfectly, handled logistics seamlessly, ( plenty of bathroom breaks & food) and added humor and insight that made the hours fly by. You could tell he truly cared about giving us the best possible experience. If you’re considering a Southern Coast tour, this 14-hour trip is absolutely worth it—and if you’re lucky enough to have “Aleksandrs The Great” as your guide, you’re in for an exceptional day. Alexander was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! It was a long day visiting the south coast with Diamond Beach, but his flexibility made our experience stress-free and enjoyable—he tailored the itinerary so we could see all the best spots without feeling rushed. He went above and beyond by recommending great places to eat Alexander also took the time to explain the history and significance of each location we visited, making the experience both fun and educational.
