I booked this private tour through TripAdvisor 4 weeks in advance and repeatedly tried to confirm details through the platform with no response. I eventually had to track down the guide on Facebook/WhatsApp, where she confirmed our date, pickup time, and group size multiple times. On the morning of our tour – which was also our last day in Iceland – she canceled just 2.5 hours before departure, at 4:45 am. Not only did this mean we lost our only chance to see the sights we had carefully planned, but we were also left scrambling for transportation to the airport. The lack of professionalism and reliability caused us stress, extra expense, and the loss of an experience we will never get back. I strongly advise future travelers to book with someone dependable. Reliability and communication are essential in a tour operator, especially when it involves airport transfers and a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am truly sorry for the stress and disappointment this situation caused you, especially on your last day in Iceland. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I had to cancel at very short notice. Our guide Elisabeth was the best ever. He knowledge of the history, geology, geography of the area was excellent. Her English was perfect. Very happy person. Made it so comfortable for us and was very flexible. Great vehicle also

My husband and I totally enjoyed our tours with Elisabete. We actually booked her 3 times while we were there. She’s that good! We booked a transfer from the airport to our hotel, the private Reykjanes peninsula tour, and the Golden Circle tour. So much better than the big bus tours and more flexible. Highly recommend!

Elisabete from Element4travel is an outstanding tour guide, whose professionalism, extensive knowledge of Iceland and genuine warmth ensured we had an incredible stay in Iceland. (January, 2024) Elisabete was always punctual and was always where she said she would be. As a result, we never stressed about arriving on time to our planned activities. At the same time, she never rushed us or made us feel as though we were on a strict schedule. As a bonus, we found her to be a delightful conversationalist during the long drives to distant destinations. The miles flew by as she told us stories and shared her insights about Iceland with us. Iceland in the winter can be a challenging place. Elisabete always had our safety in mind as we visited various natural wonders. For example, she made sure each of us had crampons whenever we would be on icy terrain. She is also an excellent driver on ice and snow. We loved our trip to Iceland, and if/when we decide to come back, Elisabete will be our first call.
