The experience felt very personal and cater of us only, ZJ was fantastic knew so much about the food and Shanghai culture was really well done. I will do this again whenever I’m back. I highly recommend it specially if you get to have ZJ

ZJ was the best guide possible! Super friendly, kind, and attentive. It was 3 hours out of time, discovering Shanghai and its culture, learning more about this city. ZJ is a super warm person who immediately puts you at ease, gives good advice, and does not hesitate to answer all our questions. Truly the best guide, I recommend every day!!!

We had a great time with ZJ! We ended up being the only people on the tour too which meant we had so much food. ZJ was very kind and great to ask any sorts of questions about- definitely recommend this tour!

ZJ gave us a great food tour full of foods I haven’t tried and a lot of local restaurants that I would have never found myself. He was also great entertainment and was very engaging for the whole 3 hours. There were only two of us on the tour which enhanced the experience as we got to talk about just about anything whilst eating delicious foods. We had great discussions about food and also lots of deep conversations about the country and culture. I’ve been on about 10 or so food specific tours around the world and this one is the best so far. Also great beer choices were made. Usually I’m not bothered writing up proper reviews but this one definitely deserved it. Thanks ZJ and keep in touch.

We had noodles, tea ceremony, dumplings, Uyghur meat, and so much more. Absolutely brilliant. This is a tour recommended for Shanghai first-timers and for locals, which we had some among our group. We had a wonderful food tour with ZJ yesterday. His restaurant recommendations were truly authentic—some were hidden gems that even many local Shanghainese may not have experienced. His in-depth yet engaging stories about Shanghai’s food history and culture made every tasting much more meaningful. ZJ also provided excellent service throughout the tour and was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. A delicious and memorable experience that we would highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful experience with our tour guide, ZJ! We enjoyed so many delicious foods, including scallion oil noodles, tea, xiaolongbao(steamed dumplings), shengjianbao (fried dumplings), Uyghur -style barbecue skewers. Everything was delicious, and it was such a great way to experience the local food and culture. ZJ was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and caring throughout the whole experience. He always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One small detail that really impressed us was that he always carried wet wipes and dry tissues with him—such a thoughtful touch! Pick up was easy and huge range of foods to sample. Lotus was excellent company and super-knowledgable about the different cuisines. Highly recommended
