We had an amazing food tour in Shanghai with Jim! From start to finish, it was such a fantastic experience. Jim was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about Shanghai’s food and culture, and he made the whole tour both fun and interesting. We tried so many delicious dishes and visited places we would never have discovered on our own. Jim was brilliant at explaining the different foods, traditions and local culture, and he was more than happy to answer all our questions. The food was absolutely amazing! Jim's enthusiasm and personality made us feel completely at ease, and we finished the tour feeling like we had experienced a real taste of Shanghai. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai — especially if you love food, culture and discovering the city like a local. An absolute highlight of our time in Shanghai!

I decided that if I had to have a layover in Shanghai I may as well make the most of it, Jim was so friendly and informative! A perfect introduction into a city I knew little about, it felt like I was walking the streets with a friend. Highly recommend.

This tour was a great choice for our first day in Shanghai. We enjoyed fantastic food in an interesting area, led by Jim who was generous with his knowledge and happy to recommend other things we should see in our short visit.

The best tour I’ve done in China! Every stop was worthwhile, and the food never missed. My favorite was the jianbing and the street vendor we went to served the best breakfast I had on the trip. We also stopped at an amazing café that sources single-origin coffee and roasts its own beans, which was a great contrast to a very traditional tea shop. The food was incredibly varied, from Xinjiang halal dishes to Shanghai-style roast duck and classic xiao long bao. The group was small, we moved efficiently, had a driver arrive right as we were done eating, and still had plenty of time to enjoy each stop. Portion sizes were perfect, with the option to get more if you wanted, but I never felt like food was being wasted. I also loved the fruit tasting for dessert at the end. Highly recommend!

Our guide, Timberly, was a friendly and helpful young woman who showed us a side of Shanghai we did not see on You tube. The food we ate was amazing, the coffee delicious, the community gracious, the city history was fascinating, the parks beautiful and the tea ceremony special and intimate. Thanks s was a morning well spent. We had to come home and have a nap afterwards, though!!

Good food, with many explanations from a very pleasant guide. We discovered a lot of great places typically hidden from tourists.

Had a wonderful morning with my guide Jim / Wang Jian on this breakfast walking tour eating where the locals would go for their breakfast. He gave a very insightful and informative tour on the history of the French concessionary area, and a great and very thoughtful guide. Had a great time on this tour!

the tour guide not only was really knowledgeable about local foods, but also the culture and history of Shanghai. He brought us to lots of local places where we would never get to explore on our own, so overall highly recommend!

Highly recommended! We had a great time walking and eating various food all around the former French Concession. Jim was a terrific guide, made us feel welcome and so knowledgeable. The tour included multiple stops for different Shanghai breakfast specialties (all of which were outstanding) tea and fruit, plus lots of cultural and sightseeing info. Well worth it!
