We had a fantastic experience with Simon! Also included in the event was a sangria lesson.
Best way to start off our trip. Our instructor was so knowledgeable and friendly. Great price for everything we did and perfect amount of time. Everything was delicious and well prepared.
Such an incredible experience! The food was amazing, awesome atmosphere & Simone & Ya Ya were wonderful hosts. Best Paella in Barcelona!
Amazing hosts, and a super fun time!
So let’s be real, making paella at home wouldn’t be that easy due to the equipment being so large so this was super fun to be able to make it in a commercial kitchen with sangria, a market visit and delicious paella. Andres and YaYa made our experience so fun! I’d highly recommend this experience.
The cooking class with Andres was great. He taught us how to make paella , sangria and an awesome dessert. it was delicious. However, on our particular tour, we had a mom with three kids, and it didn’t feel it’s appropriate to have small children with adult because of the noise factor. the kids were polite. At times there was still more noise and sometimes Andres had to pause because of the children and in one case, another person from their group had to ask them to quiet down. So I think the overall feeling of the class would have been better with just strictly adults.
Hugo and Maria were fantastic teachers! They made making paella fun-even cleaning the seafood! We made sangrias, paella, and dessert. Tapas were provided & they accommodated my need for gluten free and had one prepared specially for me. It truly was a team effort, and we put all our love into it! This was truly a once in a lifetime experience & well worth it!
Very enjoyable experience. Hugo and Maria phenomenal job. Well worth the money and your time to have this cooking experience!
We could not have hoped for a more enjoyable evening of cooking, drinking and socializing with our classmates and chef with this class. What seemed like an initial bit of disappointment that we were going to have to walk to their second kitchen turned out to not be any concern at all. We walked to the market, learning about the ingredients and other cool facts along the way, picking everything out and then heading to the kitchen. It was a really nice setup, felt cozy and quaint. The tapas arranged for us and the Sangria lesson was just the start. The star of the evening, the paella, was a slow and steady process. Every step explained, questions answered. You’ll get your hands dirty with prawns and squid, perform all the cooking, stirring and then not stirring. We had so much fun with our group, some English speaking, some Spanish but we all got along great. Simon took the time to explain everything twice in both languages, every comment, joke, and detailed fact was received by everyone. Coming away from this, I think we’d like to get our own burner and pan and try to replicate the experience at home with friends and family. It might not be as good but the fun of preparing everything is worth it however the results come out. Definitely take an evening and skip the usual restaurant and you’ll have a lot of fun cooking for yourself. The Sangria along the way sure doesn’t hurt either 😁
Wonderful cooking and drinking experience with family of 4- two kids ages 17 and 15- both had a blast- Maria and Lorenzo were lovely and the food was extra yummy
