Lots of historical detail, well researched. It made the York experience richer. However, some of the stops were hard to find (via Googlemaps) and one was completely inaccessible due to building works. It was good that we could go at our own pace (and skip things if we wanted to). Also appreciated having the written text as well as the spoken guidance. 'Jenny' (if that's her name) has a lovely voice.
Went to the nomination site no one there, walked to another or of there sites to do another self guided tour, no one there, just a sign. Got on a hop on, hope of bus and saw everything the self guided tour spoke about and more. And I had paid $17 pounds for nothing

Because these are self-guided tours, there's no in-person guide waiting at the sites — the whole tour lives inside the app, which narrates and walks you through each stop on your phone whenever you're ready to begin. It sounds like the app side wasn't opened or set up, and making that clearer up front is on us. You go from one stop to the next, and it uses google maps to send you to that stop. Many times you were sent over the same track. Back and forth. I went passed the York museum 3 times. It needs to be organised a bit better. Plus some of the pictures did not match the place I was at.

Downloaded in good faith and I really thought the app would work but it would have taken up too much of the battery and I would have spent too much time looking at the phone than taking in everything around us. Decided to ditch and get on the hop and off bus instead.

I thought id like this tour as it was self paced but I found the app and navigation very hard to follow. I didn't like it at all.

App worked fine but information was limited that i excepted. links to youtube videos were a little unhelpful. i paid for two people but could have done with one because the information on each stop is about 3-4 mins max. recording is very dry - sounds like someone reading a history book
