Was weary of making the drive myself since I wanted to view the sites instead of worrying about the drive. So glad sister and I booked this trip with Local Maui Tours. Met easily with guide (I'm horrible with names, Callen sp?) at a safe location. He drove a clean and very comfortable Wagoner. Felt very comfortable with his driving especially with all the curves, bridges and having to stop for single lane sections in some areas. He was very thoughtful and brought a fresh coconut and mangoes for us to try along with extra water. Beautiful drive with what seemed like waterfalls around every curve. Had plenty of time to enjoy the stops along the way.

We had a great time on our Road to Hana tour. Kellen was very knowledgeable!

So this was a splurge for us on our first trip to Maui, and I have to say I have no regrets. I don’t think we would have begun to experience the Road to Hana the same way trying to do it on our own. Kellen was amazing and made sure we hit all the highlights, plenty of extras, and all the must sees. It really was a bucket list item that was beautifully curated just for us. We never felt rushed and got to experience everything we wanted. I can’t recommend it enough if you want to be able to relax and know you are getting the best of the Road to Hana from a knowledgeable and fun guide. It’s worth it!!

Absolutely wonderful experience doing the reverse road to Hana. My whole family had the best time, saw so many spots that we'd never find on our own, and enjoyed Kellen's company the whole way. We'll definitely be in touch the next time we are in Maui!

We had a wonderful day tour with our guide, Kellen. He was very knowledgeable, careful and patient. We saw so many beautiful sites-waterfalls, beaches and flora and fauna. The company I originally tried scheduling the full loop road to Hana, wasn’t available and recommended Local Maui Tours, and we are SOOO glad they did. The tour from Local Maui Tours was better than anything we hoped. Kellen made us comfortable and treated us like best friends he hadn’t seen in years. Best of all, it was in the luxury of a super comfy and spacious vehicle. We got to see numerous waterfalls, Turtles, and Kellen taught us a TON about Maui, the culture, history, etc. While stopping at beaches, waterfalls, local farms, rainforests, etc. We took thousands of pictures and had a tour that we’ll have memories for a lifetime. When we come back to Maui, we’ll be looking to Kellen for another tour! Thanks Kellen!

I work on cruise ships and have been on countless tours across many destinations, and this experience stands out as one of the very best. Kellen, the guide, created an exceptional and memorable day exploring Maui. Multiple waterfalls, a turtle-viewing stop, an excellent local lunch spot, a peaceful arboretum, and part of the Road to Hana were all included — and several of the waterfalls would have been impossible to find without true local expertise. The pacing of the day was perfect: never rushed, yet an impressive amount was covered. Safety was always a priority, and even on the narrow Hana roads, there was complete confidence in Kellen’s driving. The vehicle was spacious, luxurious, and extremely comfortable, with excellent A/C that made the full-day outing even more enjoyable. A highlight was watching fresh coconuts being opened for coconut water straight from the source — such a thoughtful touch. As a cruise ship visitor, the logistics could not have been easier. Pickup was right outside the cruise port and drop-off was even closer to the ship. There was never a moment of concern about making it back on time. The entire experience felt personal, smooth, and incredibly well planned. It was easy to simply relax and enjoy seeing everything without needing to navigate or plan out the route. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a safe, stress-free, and unforgettable way to experience Maui.

Kellen is an amazing tour guide!!! My husband and I went on his Road to Hana tour and we enjoyed every moment from beginning to end. Kellen is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and truly skilled at maneuvering through the narrow winding roads. We felt safe the entire time. He is a true local who grew up here and his passion for Maui’s history, culture, and hidden gems made the entire day unforgettable. He took us to the most beautiful spots. We saw breathtaking sights, enjoyed peaceful swimming areas, and ate the best banana bread and pizza I have ever had. He knew exactly where to stop, avoided the crowds, and timed everything perfectly. His vehicle is extremely comfortable and luxurious, which made the long drive feel relaxing and enjoyable. This review is a year late but it’s been on my mind because it was such an amazing experience. My son and I booked a full day Road to Hana tour with Kellen and it was hands down the best choice we could have made. He’s a true local and knew everything about the history of the area. He took us to the best spots, we saw some of the most beautiful sights on Maui, and we ate the best banana bread I’ve ever had. It was so much better than trying to drive ourselves. I even invited other family members to join us but they wanted to do the drive on their own. They only made it halfway before turning back because it was too much. That really says it all about how worth it this tour is. The Grand Wagoneer we rode in was super comfortable and spacious which made the whole day even more enjoyable. I would recommend Kellen to anyone visiting Maui. It was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had.
