We had an absolutely incredible experience with Hawaii by Storm, and I cannot recommend our driver, Mark, highly enough. I am a very anxious passenger and, before our Road to Hana tour, I was genuinely worried about the drive. With Mark, I was not scared for even a second. He is an exceptionally skilled driver, knows the road inside and out, and made me feel completely safe and comfortable the entire day. For someone who gets nervous on winding and challenging roads, that alone made the experience priceless. But Mark was so much more than a great driver. He was funny, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and just an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. He knew so much about Maui, the Road to Hana, and Hawaiian history and culture, and shared it in such an interesting and entertaining way. We were traveling as a family—my husband and me and our two young adult children—and he related so naturally to every one of us. He was also completely flexible and made the day feel like our tour rather than a set itinerary. We did the Epic Tour, which I highly recommend. Instead of turning around and driving back the same way, we continued around the full loop and got to experience the incredible backside of Maui as well. We are so glad we chose that option. This was a splurge for us, but it was worth every penny. Having Mark drive meant that all four of us could relax, enjoy the scenery and experience the Road to Hana together without anyone having to concentrate on navigating or driving. We had an incredible experience with Hawaii by Storm’s Half-Day Road to Hana tour. It was the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Road to Hana without committing to an entire day. Our guide, Spencer, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about Maui and its history, culture, and natural beauty. He knew exactly where to stop, kept the day moving at a comfortable pace, and made the entire experience fun for our family. Having Spencer as our guide allowed us to relax and actually enjoy the drive and scenery instead of worrying about navigating the Road to Hana ourselves. The half-day format was also ideal. We saw waterfalls, incredible coastline, lush rainforest, and some truly spectacular scenery while still having plenty of the day left afterward. The Road to Hana was an awesome experience!! What made it better was our tour guide, Daniel. Daniel was extremely knowledgeable and attentive throughout our trip. It was just me and my husband and we had a blast with him. We never got rushed and he took lots of pictures for us. He answered all our questions and gave us great information about island life and history of the island. We were exhausted by the end of it but didn’t want it to end!! Book the trip and ask for Daniel! You won’t regret it.

My wife, daughter, and I did the private Road to Hana tour. Our tour guide, Nick, was fantastic! He was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He was also extremely accommodating and willing to add things that we wanted to add or skip areas we weren’t that interested in seeing. I would highly recommend Nick.

We did the Hāna & Back tour with Hawaii by Storm yesterday, and our guide Daniel Fisher is the reason this was one of the best days of our trip. Nearly 12 hours on the road, and our group of 6 was genuinely sad when the day ended - we wanted more time with him. Daniel’s knowledge is extraordinary. He wove together Hawaiian history, geology, native vs. non-native flora and fauna, and local culture at every single stop, without it ever feeling like a rehearsed script. You could tell he wasn’t reciting facts - he actually lives this. He’s been on Maui for 9 years and is clearly woven into the real local community, not just the tourist version of it. That access and perspective made all the difference. On top of the depth of knowledge, he was just a genuinely great person to spend the day with - warm, funny, easy to talk to, and attentive to our group the entire time. The stops along the Road to Hāna (waterfalls, Black Sand Beach, banana bread, lunch, the works) are beautiful on their own, but Daniel is what turned it into a truly special experience. If you book this tour, request Daniel Fisher. Hawaii by Storm is lucky to have him, and we’d go back to Maui just to do this tour with him again!

If you only do one thing on Maui, make it a Road to Hana tour with Nick. Our full day with him was easily the highlight of our entire trip and something we'll never forget. What sets Nick apart is how much he genuinely cares. He customized the whole day around what we wanted to see and do, from stunning waterfalls to great local spots, and he always seemed to know the perfect timing for everything. It never felt like a cookie-cutter tour; it felt like a day designed just for us. And he's just a wonderful person to spend a day with, funny, kind, and endlessly knowledgeable about the island. By the time we headed back, it felt like we'd been adventuring with an old friend rather than a guide. Do yourself a favor and book with Nick. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
