We were a bit skeptical about tackling a two-hour walk in these temperatures, but instead, it was the best choice! Giuseppe, our very competent guide, was extremely thorough but above all pleasant to listen to. He accompanied us to discover the "old" city, making time fly by. Compliments!
When we decided to visit Matera, everyone we spoke with advised us to get a guide. We followed their advice and I must say that we were truly thrilled. Our guide Giuseppe was exceptional. The 2 hours of the tour were truly exciting. Thanks to his background and his stories, he helped us discover things we never would have thought of. A truly unique tour. A nice experience to get to know the Sassi. The places visited are fascinating and the guide who accompanied us, Mr. Giuseppe, was very good at telling us about them, also through his own direct experiences and the stories of "his elders" (from a very young age he was already acting as a "guide" for the few tourists who happened by those parts, almost accidentally, and the Sassi area was still in a state of abandonment).
