Just returned home from our 2 week tour of Yorkshire and the very worst part of it was on the 7th of August, when we decided to use the tour bus! We spent most of the time parked up whilst the driver was on his phone, the tour took close to an hour and a half when we were earlier told it would take around 45 minutes. What’s worse, is my mother who was downstairs said she heard the driver using disgusting language which is totally unacceptable and ruined her experience! Had my mum told me this had happened whilst we were upstairs I’d of challenged this behaviour myself but she only told me afterwards. I felt sorry for the other passengers aboard, and the man with the very distinct northern accent with the microphone, he tried his best and looked embarrassed as to the fact nobody knew what the delays were. The staff away from the bus seemed nice, I asked the nice lady when I got off the bus for the drivers name and she stated his name was Ryan. I have phoned up 3 times now as I want, and feel that we deserve a refund! Can someone please get in touch and respond. Many thanks.

I enjoyed this introductory tour of York. It was very informative, and the staff was kind and helpful.

Great experience right from the start. Took the tour bus from Exhibition Square where the lovely Josh explained how it all worked & booked our tickets for us. He was a real breath of fresh air welcoming, fun & smiling but still very polite & professional. The driver was also very informative & his commentary definitely added to the tour. Superb way to see the City, get your bearings then use the hop on, hop off element to see your favourite parts. Would recommend.

Had a lovely time visiting our favourite UK city, my family and I are from New Orelans, US. We vacayed for a week in York and really rated our trip on the sightseeing bus. The driver was especially kind and was super friendly. His name was Yan I’m unsure of the spelling but he said it was polish, he had lovely manners and was super helpful in telling us about how to get to certain places we wanted to see and just made our trip much more enjoyable! Great guy. When we visit again we will most definitely take another tour on the bus and hope he is our driver again! Send our thanks to him please.

Located by Exhibition Square is where you can begin your journey with City Sightseeing York. Tickets can be purchased direct from the reps or from the Tourist Information Centre. Tickets can be for 24 or 48 hours and are excellent value for money. The bus takes around an hour with highlights including Clifford’s Tower and the Shambles. The commentary is either given by a live guide or through headphones. We had a live guide. There was a noisy child throughout the tour and the guide dealt with it amicably and made the tour engaging and interesting despite this. Your ticket will also get you discounts in local shops and venues such as Drake’s Fish and Chips and York Dungeon. For a great start to your time in York use City Sightseeing!

The booking and finding where the activity started was a breeze. The whole journey was informative and funny. The tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable.

Been on many hop hop off bus tours world wide. Just been on the tour around York uk. We were met by Sarah who explained what the bus tour would cover . Also the option of including a boat cruise which combined with the bus tour would be a cheaper option .we decided to take both tours. We bordered the bus and was welcomed by Mick the driver Throughout the tour which lasted 1 hour on the bus Micks knowledge of York and its history was incredible. My wife and I both agreed this was the best bus tour we have ever been on. Thank you Sarah for persuading us to take the and Mick for his expertise

Handy tour bus, great knowledgeable tour guide, handy to hop on and off at various stops, and regular. Worth the money!
