We decided to take advantage of the service since we were with our children. He accompanied us on a beautiful panoramic tour of Matera, and our little ones did not get tired.
Peter was an ideal guide, turned up on time at our hotel, introduced himself and off we went in very comfortable style for our 40 minute tour of Matera. Vito was already ready for our departure and gave us a wonderful and relaxing tour of the city and told in good English many details about the history of the city and the sassi. Stopped at a few places to look at things and take pictures. Great!

Donato was our guide and he was incredible! He was a wealth of information on Matera and shared some personal family heritage which we found very interesting. He was very polite and never rushed us and even took pictures of us in front of some beautiful sites and scenery. We would rate him a 15+ out of 10 that is how much we enjoyed this tour
Vito gave us an absolutely amazing tour of the Sassi. I can’t say enough about his tour. He’s so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We took a two-hour tour and it did not disappoint. If you’ve never been to Matera, I recommend taking a tour with Vito. It helped give us an idea of where to keep exploring. And we learned so much about the area and its history. From seeing an example of a cave dwelling, and cave church to the miniature model of the Sassi, and recommendations on where we should explore, Vito left us with one of our best days in Italy.
