We went on the small group tour on 27/09/2026. Barely saw the Northern Lights, though the guide (Michal) tried many spots. I requested them rebook us the next day as stated in the ticket, and we went on a big bus with a larger group. We were lucky to see the Northern Lights, and enjoyed some hot chocolate while we waited . Personal note - preferred the big bus to the small group - much more comfortable
Daniel “the Aurora Hunter“ was the most fabulous person ever! This man was about his business! He not only made the tour fun, exciting, but he was funnier than hell. I thought I was going on a sedate little tour to go see the northern lights, and I ended up laughing my butt off. I have not laughed that hard and so long. That man was going to make sure that we saw the northern lights come hell or high water! He knows his stuff, he’s so personable, and he made sure that everybody was well accommodated, and pointed out the directions for us “aurora borealis“ dummies who couldn’t see it. He even adjusted all of my cell phone and Cannon camera settings so that I can catch every live moment of it. I would do this to her over and over again. And as a sidenote – Daniel, Jeanny is a great middle name for a baby!. Cheers and congratulations. May you prosper and thank you for making my solo trip to Iceland so memorable. I highly recommend this tour.. I suggest other tour guides take a page from his guide book and learn a lesson or two!
It was great of chasing the lights. Then finally getting to see the lights for an hour and a half. Kuba was a great guide. I would definitely recommend a good camera to help see the lights as mine was poor.

The first stop was not good. Just off the highway so car lights showed in all the photos and the lights from Reykjavik still light up the sky. We eventually moved to a new location that was much better.
Great with our guide Daniel who is dynamic, funny, and an expert in his field. He knew how to take us to the right places and we were able to see several northern lights!
