Interesting palace and museum

Interesting museum to discover the interior of a Venetian palace, period costumes and perfumes. Point of improvement for the museum: put explanatory sheets for costumes. Asking to scan a QR code to have the information is not practical especially since there are already descriptive sheets of the rooms, adding the costume information on the back would be simple and effective.

Hidden treasures in Venice

Outside the tourist flow in the San Croce area, this museum absolutely deserves to be seen. I really liked the layouts of the rooms. From the costumes of the time, the decorations, the beautiful pieces of Murano, it is possible to understand what the grandeur of Venice had been. Also stop and watch the video (available in several languages) on the great Venetian perfumers. The price of a single ticket is 10 euros or you can opt to purchase it for 15 euros which also includes Ca' Rezzonico and Goldoni's house. Friendly staff

Amazing tour - well worth it, interesting and interactive

Our whole family were really impressed by how great this tour and little museum are. Our three young kids including our oldest boy of 11 really loved making their own perfumes after having learnt about and smelt all of the different scents in the museum. My husband and I thought the palace itself was gorgeous too. Our amazing tour guide Elena (or Helen) gave a great insight into Venetian life over the centuries and the kids were really engaged and captivated by her. Our group was very small and felt private as MUVE who run the museum do seem to really tailor and time the tours according to demand. This one is a hidden gem amidst the busy-ness of Venice.

Lovely palazzo, interesting history of perfume, quiet and a lovely place to visit

I love this place and visit whenever i can. Quiet, unassuming and interesting. The temporary displays are always interesting. The 18th century waistcoats are beautiful

A beautiful Venetian Palazzo

This imposing 17th century palace, located on the edge of the great canal, offers a beautiful living architectural ensemble, in addition to magnificent Rococo furniture. There is also a beautiful collection of old clothes, as well as a beautiful and interesting section on the manufacture of perfume. In the shop a collection of products "the merchant of venice" quite overpriced. Beautiful example of a Venetian palazzo

Ageing exhibition

We visited this museum yesterday in threes. Get tickets without reservation and without queues. However, it was already 4 pm, but in my opinion you don’t need much time for the exhibition either. The most interesting thing was seeing a palazzo like this from the inside. The pictures and furniture were only very briefly described on somewhat older info cards in each room, painter/year, not very productive. I would have been interested in something about the history of the inhabitants, building history too, there would still be potential.... In some rooms, modern textile works were still on display, somewhat better described, but for me placed unmotivated in the environment. Original clothing , a collection of men's vests, could only be seen in one room without much info. I saw a much better exhibition in Dijon on this subject. Three rooms were dedicated to perfume, there were old equipment, display cases with ingredients even with little information about them. Nice was the room with the glass bottles for smelling some basic ingredients yourself. Overall, the museum didn't make much of an impact, so I think a refresher would be needed.

Not really worth the entry charge

Really not worth it in my own opinion. I had high hopes of lots of original historical clothing but it is really just walking through various rooms with a section of fancy waistcoats and a few mannequins with a bit of drapy clothing on. I liked sniffing the perfume essences and herbs but that really was it. Save yourself some Euros and just look at the pictures. It took me 15 minutes all in all.

Total failure

Had booked and paid with Tripadvisor for 2 people. The museum hadn't let us in because they couldn't scan. Although they had booking number and confirmation that has already been paid. Didn't get my money back from Tripadvisor despite writing an email. Never book through Tripadvisor again. There should have been a way to have the code sent to you.

Original museum in a noble palace

Very interesting museum in a noble Venetian palace. Delicious collection of waistcoats and perfumery workshop with the perfumer's organ, for the composition of perfumes. I recommend
