A deeply affecting visit to a site of genocide. Srebrenica’s museum is profoundly moving and shows history through documents and testimony rather than sensationalism. Samir was our guide and his personal experience with the tribunals and investigations gave us an even deeper view into them than just a museum visit alone would have.
This is a tour I will never forget. Our tour guide was extremely thorough in explaining the events leading up to the genocide. He was also able to answer questions we had after visiting the museum. Afterwards, when we visited the local family, I had what was truly the best meal I had since being in Bosnia (which is saying a lot because Bosnian food is delicious!). I appreciated their honesty and openness as they answered questions about their experience in Srebrenica. I will never forget this tour and I wholeheartedly recommend booking with Funky Tours so you can understand the history of this tragedy.
I highly recommend this experience; it is well organized and the guide is extremely knowledgeable. A bit too little time to see everything in the museum, but still essential for getting information about this tragedy.
Our experience was excellent, especially the tours to Tito's Bunker and Srebrenica. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and shared their personal insights with honesty and respect. These are the kinds of tours everyone should do. They help you understand the past so we don't repeat it. Sarajevo is an amazing city with an extraordinary history, and it truly deserves to be discovered.
I took this tour with Tarek as the guide. He was an excellent guide, really helping with understanding what happened in the region that still remains fresh in the memories of many people in the region. This is not a period of history that is taught in schools, at least in the UK, so it’s important that trips like this continue to take place.

This tour was a really positive experience, the guide was extremely well prepared, he managed to keep the entire day interesting and answered all of our questions. If you are interested in understanding what happened in Srebrenica and the historical context behind it I really recommend it. An incredible but sobering experience. Our tour guide Ajla was incredibly knowledgeable. She provided an excellent history of the conflict as well as present day insights. She is also an expert at navigating the mountain roads in extremely heavy fog while chatting the whole time. The local hosts were incredibly gracious as well.
