An amazing day trip to Srebrenica with Meet Bosnia Tours. The whole day was organized, professional, packed with knowledge about the Bosnian War and they even packed us lunch. Very thoughtful. Our guide Almir was friendly, helpful and full of knowledge and insight about the Bosnian War. Excellent value for money and a highlight of our vacation. Will definitely book with them again!
Ayoub guided me through a moving tour in Srebrenica. He told me and my fellow tour friend the story of a sad event in Bosnia's history, if not the saddest. We crossed Srpska Republic and all those territories which testified the massacre of 8000+ people, watched the images and heard the voices of the ones who suffered from such a tremendous conflict. What Ayoub added has been his deep knowledge about it, but he did more than this: he also pushed me to think critically of an event of such scale, finding the causes that originated it and showing me the consequences. In particular, I won't forget the kindness I found in those people living and resisting in the territory of the so called Srpska Republic, who are still facing the aftermath of the genocide, an evidence of how the conflicts don't just come to an end when the weapons stay silent and the agreements are signed.
Almir was wonderful. Our guide is local and knowledgeable about all aspects of history. Thanks. May God have mercy on all of them. 🤲🏻
Fantastic experience that was both enjoyable and educational. Our driver and guide Almir was so friendly and knowledgeable. His English was superb and he made a brilliant trip even more interesting. He shared both his personal experience vast knowledge of the Bosnian war with us. I couldn’t rate Almir highly enough. This is a most do trip if you visit Sarajevo and have the time.
This was one of the most powerful and moving tours I have ever taken. Our guide, Almir, was absolutely phenomenal. He was friendly, had a great sense of humor, which he used appropriately, and approached a very difficult subject with honesty, openness, and sensitivity. He did an excellent job explaining the history and helping us understand the events that took place, while also sharing his own firsthand experiences during the war, including deeply personal stories of loss. The group was small (only eight people) which allowed plenty of opportunities to ask questions and have meaningful discussions throughout the day. It was a long and emotional experience, but Almir was the perfect guide for it. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina. Just be prepared: it is an emotionally difficult day, and one that will stay with you long after it ends.
Great experience, very emotional, the guide was great, sharing facts and documentation, he is very brave as he experienced war and ethnic cleansing himself. This place should be visited by all tourists,
This tour was emotionally heavy, but tells a very important part of the fall of Yugoslavia. The history is horrendous, it is a long day, but it was definitely worth it. There is a lot of information.
This tour from Sarajevo to Srebrenica was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Everything was included in the price, including transportation, museum admission, water, and a sandwich, making the experience completely hassle-free. What truly made the tour outstanding, however, was our guide, Ago. Throughout the journey, he shared a wealth of knowledge about the history of Sarajevo, the Bosnian War, and the Srebrenica genocide. His historical expertise was remarkable, and he presented complex events with clarity, nuance, and sensitivity. What made his storytelling especially powerful was his willingness to share firsthand accounts and personal experiences from his own family history. These testimonies added a deeply human dimension to the historical narrative and made the experience even more meaningful and memorable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of its recent history. An educational, moving, and unforgettable experience. Thank you Ago for your great availability, if you read this review!
The tour was very impressive. On the 2-hour ride to Srebrenica the guide told and explained a lot of things about the history of the conflict through the centuries. And at the Remembrance Center we saw a film of what happened under the genocide. After that a specialized guide of the Center told sometimes more private stories about what happened to her family. Finally we walked to the cemetary where we saw the 8000 graves and names inscripted on a tableau. It is unbelievable what people can do to each other once the circumstances are to it.
50 minutes into our drive the van was having mechanical issues with the driver/tour guide quickly identified. We immediately pulled to the side and the driver/guide reported the matter and replacement vehicle arrived in 40 minutes. We set off and our driver/guide shared his personal experience and tkmeline of the genocide. Once we arrived at the Museum we watched a 30 minute video that recapped similar information. We then walked through the Museum which recounted in great detail testimony from all those involved. You spend several hours here going at your own pace. We ate lunch (provided by the tour) and then went to the memorial or Cemetery. If you want to learn about how a people can perpetuate a genocide this is the tour for you. You will be moved greatly by the survivors and their families who retell this story over and over again to educate anyone who wants to learn.
