I had a lovely time on the Campal Heritage Walk led by Vimala Desouza. What made this experience special was the way she brought Goa’s history, heritage, and everyday life to life through stories. Starting at Kala Academy, we explored its origins and architecture, followed by the recently developed promenade. We then walked through Campal, discovering its history, charming lanes, the connecting bridges to St. Inez, its guardian spirits, the erstwhile Goa Medical College, and the venue for the International Film Festival of India. The experience was made even more delightful with a snack and a seasonal drink at a local bistro, followed by a live music performance at Campal Garden. It was a beautiful blend of history, local culture, architecture, and community life. Vimala is a wonderful storyteller who brings depth and character to the places she introduces. Her walk encouraged me to look beyond the buildings and streets and appreciate the stories and memories they hold. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Goa beyond its beaches and discover the soul of its heritage. Thank you, Vimala, for such a memorable afternoon!

Rachna, the storyteller, made Campal come alive for me in the most beautiful way. 🌿 Walking along the riverfront, gazing across at the forts, discovering the stories of the sandbars and learning about Campal’s gardens and hidden gems — every step revealed another little piece of Goa. I recently joined the Compal Heritage Walk, and it was a truly enriching experience. The walk beautifully brought the history, culture, and heritage of the area to life. Every stop had a fascinating story, making it easy to connect with the past and appreciate the significance of the place. Lovely walking tour of Campal with our knowledgeable and enthusiastic storyteller Trancy. We enjoyed refreshments in a heritage hotel and listened to some great live music as part of the tour. The tour gave us a good insight into the fascinating history of Goa and its people.

The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. She gave excellent description and insight of Goa’s past history. She was very passionate about this subject matter.

Trancy is a great host and made it a memorable experience with her warmth and storytelling. The tour is very nice if you like serene walk into nice localities with lot of history and there are good breaks for music and cafe.

Enjoyed the Campal tour- lots of learnings about the history, Monuments and the live music was a nice touch. Rachana was very knowledgeable and kind and therefore easy to follow along.

This walk was my first introduction to Make It Happen - and Vimala was the perfect person to introduce me to Campal. I had a lovely time walking around the beautiful neighborhood, being treated to a musical concert by a Goan musician, taking a break with a kokum drink and getting the glimpse of the history. Don't miss the walk, esp if you are staying in and around Panjim.
