We have been to Rome many times over the years and even been to Trastevere a few times, but the tour that Chiara and Federico provided showed a new and very interesting aspect of the area that I didn't know existed. Learning more about the history of Rome and understanding the roles of key participants in the revolution was exciting and very interesting, not only providing much greater insight into Rome, but reaffirming my love of the city.
Chiara and Federico are wonderful guides, able to speak English very well, showing a deep understanding of all aspects of the tour, and most important, are very passionate about Rome's history which made the tour even more exciting!
I would definitely suggest this tour while in Rome!

Unique and interesting part of Italian history
This tour explores a unique and fascinating chapter of Italian history that is not often discussed. I had no idea about this period or the people involved, and it truly filled in many of the blank spaces in my understanding of Italy. The conflict between church and state and the struggle for independence is an incredibly compelling part of Rome’s history.
Not only is the experience informative and engaging, but it also takes you to one of the most beautiful areas of the city—places that most tourists would never think to visit. The views are breathtaking, and the tour concludes in Trastevere, which is worth exploring in its own right, with so much charm, history, and character.
Chiara and Federico are exceptional guides. Their passion for Rome’s history is evident, and their deep knowledge and insight make the past feel vivid and tangible as you stand in these important locations.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover a truly authentic side of Rome and gain a deeper understanding of its history, all while being guided by knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining experts.

A fun experience.
This week I went on this very interesting and enjoyable tour. It is a great way to learn of the history of the Independence of Italy, focusing on the principal players of the time. The guides, Chiara and Federico, were kind, charming and well informed. In addition, they spoke excellent English. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in the contemporary history of Italy.

beautiful escarpment
a nice uphill climb from the square of San Pietro sul Gianicolo. Thank goodness it wasn't in full sun or I would have suffered the heat. The road is sunken between gardens on the right at the beginning and walls that enclose the city of Rome on the left and now from a certain point onwards residences belonging to the Vatican that welcome priests and priests who study and deepen their knowledge coming, in large part, from non-European countries. It then reaches the Porta di San Pancrazio and then the fountain of Acqua Paola (pictured). All places that recall the battles for the defense of the Roman Republic with Garibaldi at the head of the defenders.

A breathtaking view.
The fountain, mythical Roman fountain, place of many films, is the gianicolo, with a unique panoramic view, practically you can admire all of Rome, wide and far, a beautiful place for a photographic memory of Rome. We recommend it to anyone who comes to visit rome.

Very nice view of the historic center of Rome
First stop of our journey in Rome, from the Giuseppe Garibaldi monument, a beautiful viewpoint on the historic center of Rome... A few hundred meters away is the Fontana dell’Aqua Paola...
Easy parking nearby.

Trastevere walking tour
We really enjoyed our walking tour with our Chiara and Frederico. As local guides they spoke clear and excellent English with a wealth of historical knowledge. It was a bit rainy on the day of our tour but they were at our meeting spot right on time and we were fortunate to have them all to ourselves as another couple had cancelled due to the weather. This tour is a great value and reasonably priced with a wonderful treat at the end. Thanks so much Chiara and Frederico for enriching our Rome Experience!

Janiculum fountain
The large fountain is more beautiful than the terrace, it is located below the Janiculum, easily reachable by buses leaving from various points of the city
