A whirlwind trip

It was quick trip. would have liked if the guide had come with us to the castles and church and tell us at the spot its details rather than brief about it in the bus. A guided trip would mean the guide comes and tells us the details in all these places- the interesting history, trivia or interesting bits and pieces - basically the small details. Our guide was very efficient in making us cover the three spots. Kept the time of giving 1 1/2 hours in each of the spots. You do not get the time to enjoy the palace -it was a whirlwind trip so one can say we saw it.

Castle Tours and Braşov

It was a great tour, great information along the way and some history of Romania and the Transylvania - Braşov areas! It did feel a little bit rushed through Bran castle especially but when it came to Pales and the square around Braşov we had plenty of time to eat and enjoy the area!! Would define my recommend this tour!

Very long day and poor pre-trip communications

I received multiple emails from Viator, but my booking did not appear on the local operator's roster. As a result, I missed critical updates from the guide, including the requirement to purchase timed entry tickets in advance. Furthermore, the local guide's unprofessional attire created a poor impression, and the tour ran significantly behind schedule, lasting 14 hours. While the sites visited were enjoyable, the logistics and presentation require improvement.

Beautiful Carpathian Mountains and Sites

This was a great tour outside of Bucharest and a great way to see the country of Romania which is beautiful. Alex was our guide, he was attentive and knowledgeable, shared the history of the palace, castle and Brasov, which is a must see, a beautiful city in the Carpathian Mountains.

Excellent compromise for an organized tour. The guide Andrew (I hope I'm not getting the name wrong) was very good; the schedule was very tight, but the distances to cover in just one day don't give any other possibility.

Total misinformation

I am going to give my opinion about this excursion; let's see, first of all, I want it to be clear that I am not complaining, since it was ultimately satisfactory, but people need to know about so much misinformation, and I don't feel like letting this happen. First they told us we had to go to the city of Brasov, then to Peles, and then to Bran, but because they wanted to, without prior notice, THEY CHANGED THE WHOLE ORDER and it ended up being: Bran, Peles, and Brasov, WHICH RESULTED IN A TOTAL OF 16 AND A HALF HOURS ON THE BUS. Because the distances are very long, they took us up, then brought us down, then brought us down again, then took us back up (more than 300km), then brought us down all of a sudden; it was grueling, they don't tell you anything, we asked for a Spanish-speaking guide or a translator of some kind, they said they would bring one, and the day before they told us there wasn't one. They do it on purpose so you don't cancel; all this, there were 3 of us, well, one of the three people almost didn't get to travel because they canceled their trip because they didn't respond to the WhatsApp message they sent them, a message they deleted immediately just because, and then they had to pay DOUBLE once inside the BUS; we left at 7 in the morning and arrived at 12 at NIGHT. TERRIBLE, an experience I will not live through again; it is true that in the end we had a good time, but it is a very intense trip, it is the kind of trip that should be done in 2 days (if what happened to us happens) because otherwise it is 12 hours, but well, anyway, now you know my experience.

Worth the money but calling it Draculas castle is misleading

Peles castle was amazing. worth the trip by itself. Brasov is a lovely city, also worth visiting and quite renowned by the locals. Bran castle was pretty cool, but its links to Dracula are so minor, calling it Dracula's castle is very misleading. It's a shame its been used in such manner along with the local Dracula based market but it is what it is and it was still worth going there. Even the picture in this experience isn't brans castle but Peles. As long as you are aware of all this you will enjoy the experience.

A great day out!

This was a great day out. There is a quite a long coach ride, but it is definitely worth doing. It is also worth paying the extra to go inside Peles Castle, which is quite remarkable.

This is a great tour...

This is a great tour visiting Peles and Bran castles and Braşov. It’s an all day tour so pack snacks. We started off driving to Peles castle which is a great tour. It’s a bit of a hike to get up to the top though but not a bad walk. Get there early and it’s cool (in the summer). Definitely reserve your tickets ahead of time as it’s limited to so many per day. This tour will do this for you - take advantage of that. Once you leave here, you drive to Bran castle - it’s a nice drive to this area. It’s definitely packed though. Then you gear up to head a Braşov where you have about an hour. I’ll be honest, I could have stayed here longer. Once this is done - you head back to Bucharest. I will say the driving is long through the day. Bring snacks to eat throughout the day. Also, there is no bathroom on the coach so always use that before you leave. They really stress being punctual and it is totally necessary. If you do this tour - be mindful that you’re only given so much time at each location and 60 other people could be waiting on you, so be on time to leave. The drive back from Braşov was a bit of a nightmare for us but through no fault of the tour. Traffic was horrendous and it took forever to get back to the city. Overall, we really enjoyed the day.

Tried to see too much and failed

Based on the other reviews it would seem we were unlucky but our experience was not good. Busy locations and terrible traffic /roadworks didn’t help but it was more than that. After over 3 hrs to reach our first stop our guide told us to go to the toilet only if an emergency. Having told us when we got on the bus that no food or drink was allowed we were not given any free time on arrival. The place was heaving so not fun (felt like sheep in a pen). We rushed through the rooms as in dire need of the toilet and a drink. Our guide didn’t explain that the exit was in a different place to the entry so our bus was late leaving as I suspect people got lost ( he assumed everyone had data and could access his email directions). We got back on the bus expecting a short hop to Braşov (30 mins per google maps) - so we had chosen not to eat but go straight for lunch there as now gone 12. Only after we started the journey were we told that they had changed plans and we were now going to drive back towards Bucharest to Peleş - min 2 hours journey as horrendous traffic. So no food and short of water at this point. The bus, we were told would then go back through the same roadworks to Braşov (estimated 1.5 hrs) before going back to Bucharest ( estimated 3 hrs). When we arrived at Peleş ( now gone 2) we were again told that a toilet break should be avoided unless an emergency. Our guide didn’t even bother to wait for everyone to get off the bus before he started walking away. Once inside we were again herded through the rooms. At one point our guide shouted at us for stopping to take a photo saying we could do that later - but it was a one way system and hordes of people behind us. After only a few rooms we walked on independently as there were way too many in our group. We also made the decision to quit the tour altogether because we had no desire to spend another 4 plus hours on a bus. We walked to the local train station and got a train to Bucharest. I later got an email to say that the bus would be leaving Braşov at 19:45 - meaning back in Bucharest by 10 pm earliest. We made the right call ! A huge disappointment especially as our last day in Romania. Knowing there are roadworks and the volume of people at each castle - be honest with your guests and don’t try and do all 3 sites in one tour.

事業者からの返答

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed account — and we are genuinely sorry. This is not the experience we work for, and much of what you describe was within our control, regardless of the traffic and roadworks that day. You are right on the specific points. When heavy roadworks force us to reorder the castle visits, this must be announced clearly before departure, together with realistic timings — not after the bus has left. Comfort breaks, water and a proper lunch window are not luxuries on a 13-hour day; discouraging restroom stops was wrong. And a guide should always wait for the full group and never rush guests taking photos — we have addressed this directly with the team member concerned. As a result of your feedback we have made three changes: any itinerary change is now announced at boarding with updated times; a guaranteed food and restroom stop is fixed into the schedule regardless of delays; and guides must confirm the full group before walking to any entrance, with printed exit maps for guests without mobile data. We are sorry this was your last day in Romania. If you ever return, we would welcome the chance to show you the experience as it should have been. One Excellence Tours
