Discover how far corruption can go on this 4-hour tour of ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's former countryside residence. Located 30 minuted from Kiev, Mezhyhirya Residence Museum features an opulent mansion, private zoo, replica Spanish galleon, underground shooting range and 18-hole golf course. Led by an English-speaking guide, this small-group tour is limited to 15 people to ensure a personalized experience.
Meet your guide in the lobby of the Hotel Ukraine at 9am and make yourself comfortable in the private vehicle for the journey to the Mezhyhirya Residence Museum, once the private residence of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Thirty minutes later you will arrive at Mezhyhirya, a luxurious 140-hectare (350 acre) site where Yanukovych lived before being ousted from power and fleeing to Russia in 2014. After paying the entrance fee (approximately 120 UAH / US $4 per person), learn the details of Yanukovych's corruption as your guide leads you on a 3-hour walking tour of Mezhyhirya, taking in the mansion with its $100,00 chandeliers and priceless works of art, a replica Spanish galleon, and recreation center with bowling, an underground shooting range and tennis courts. Stroll around the vast landscaped gardens dotted with opulent fountains and man-made lakes, an 18-hole golf course and helipad. Yanukovych's former residence also includes a small church, yacht pier, equestrian club, ostrich farm and, of course, the zoo with its kangaroos, emus and peacocks. For an extra $10 per person, you can also visit the extravagant so-called Club House, known as HONKA after the Finnish company which built it. Other optional extras include the museum of vintage cars and motorcycles (extra $2 per person), visiting the bath complex (extra $2 per person), golf cart rental (extra $4) or bicycle hire (extra $2). At 12:30pm your driver will take you back to Kiev, where the tour ends.

Unbelievable what total corruption buys. Totally over the top from the “zoo” to the grounds to the house.
Loved this tour with Miroslava...She was very knowledgable and friendly...we learnt a lot about the residence. Lovely walk around the Mansion and grounds. Definately a must do whilst in Kiev.
This excursion doesn't really cover much than the transport and the time of your guide, you still have to pay entry at attraction and I was concerned that perhaps we had wasted money and could have just got there by taxi for fraction of the price but I was so wrong. Our guide was Taya and she was EXCELLENT! Taya spent the journey there giving us a background to the revolution that removed Yanukovych and pointing out the various places in the city that were part of the story. Her english was excellent and she answered all our questions perfectly. The sheer vastness of the looting from the nation of Ukraine by Yanukovych and his cronies was at the same time fascinating and disgusting, just as the house is both impressive yet incredibly cheap and tacky in places. It's a unique attraction and we found ourselves short of time, we could easily have continued our visit for hours longer as there is so much to explore and Taya's informative stories and explanations were so interesting. The best reason to pay for an english speaking guide, and Taya in particular, is that she knows the complex so well. Whilst there was a group of people going around the main house on the group tour she was largely able to keep us ahead of them and therefore some excellent photo opportunities to capture the house without it being full of people. Not only were we happy to have paid what we paid we also tipped Taya and the driver because we were so impressed with the whole excursion. We can thoroughly recommend Taya and this excursion to anyone. We have even taken their details so when we return to Kiev we can use Argotours again and hopefully have Taya as our excellent guide.
We had a very informative and entertaining tour guide who made a glum topic fun. We did an extensive walk through the main house and she pointed out all the details, some tacky, some amazing, that this corruption house contains. We left with a lot of insight with what was happening with Ukraine at the time, who was hurt, and what sort of creep the ex-president must have been.
Yelena from Argotours was an excellent guide, telling a somber story of public corruption on an epic scale. Her extensive knowledge of both history and current events gave us unique insight into the challenges facing Ukraine. Highly recommended.
We had a tour with Argotour. Sorry I don't remember our guides name but he was an excellent guide. Very informative. He could explain a lot to us. Gave us a lot of background info so we could appreciate the amount of corruption there was in the higher levels of gov. And the new for change.
We had a great day in Mezhyhirya with a very knowledgable tour guide. What is unclear is the price inclusion. It was clearly stated when we booked that entrance was not included in the price which apparently also regard the tourguide. We thought that 40€ per person was a little much for basically the transfer and the time for a tourguide, as entrances costs equally as much. We think that Argotour could make a better deal and offer an all-inclusive pack for the day, especially so that the entrance fee for the tourguide is included. Otherwise a day well spent!
We did the tour with some friends, on our own. And it is awesome, a really beautiful place with excellent taste!
Had a tour via Argotour with Miroslava, she was amazing, knowledgeable, tailered the tour to my interests and was on time. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks
