One of the best tours we've had internationally. I strongly recommend this - and other tours with the same operator - to anyone interested in art or history. Very good guides. Also my male companion was super contentt with the tour so please don't think this tour is something interesting only for women.
Did the Women in art in The National Gallery, led by Steph. Terrific energy from Steph and excellent historical background included in her presentation. Very interesting!
Matilde was a fantastic guide. I loved this tour as it provided insights into the world of artists I was not familiar with. It is also was a great way not too be overwhelmed by the vastness of the collection. I would highly recommend this tour. It was entertaining, educational , and enlightening!
I had a really wonderful private tour, I learnt about women artists and had really insightful and beautiful conversations about history, politics and the narratives around women’s participations in these spaces. I left wanting to learn more and was given many, many recommendations - I can’t wait to get stuck into my reading list. Stéph is incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, a great storyteller and really good at engagement, it never felt like she was just reciting a script. I highly recommend this experience and I appreciate the affordable price too.
Becky was amazing, what an interesting and wonderful tour. Thank you.
We have now been on a number of these walks. They are all different. We have enjoyed them all. The Women in Art was fascinating, a walk around the National Gallery learning about the very few women artists whose work is displayed. Becky is a wonderful story teller informed by her expert knowledge.
This is the second tour I've taken with WoL...the first was only the day before! I loved it so much I immediately signed up for another. This experience was so much more than just seeing female artists. The guide Becki made connections between eras and contemporaty artists. She shared other works by the artists so which explained their style development. She discussed the museum itself and the dynamics of it's slowly expanding collection of works by women. My only regret was that the tour wasn't longer. Extremely well done tour.
A fascinating tour through the National Gallery in London. The guide was well-informed and thoughtful, able to provide historical context and connect the artworks to contemporary themes. Highly recommended!
Our tour of 'Women in Art' in the National Gallery, with Becky, was our fourth with Women of London. Every tour has been of the highest quality, with excellent guides. It's such a fresh approach and one which men as well as women can appreciate. Highly recommended.
