Great wine tasting! We learned about the wine regions and indigenous varietals of Romania. They were very knowledgeable and had unique wines we haven’t had elsewhere. Would recommend for a tasting or just dropping by for a glass of wine!

Great wine tasting! We learned about the wine regions and indigenous varietals of Romania. They were very knowledgeable and had unique wines we haven’t had elsewhere. Would recommend for a tasting or just dropping by for a glass of wine!
My wife and I were recently in Bucharest for a river cruise and enjoyed a wine tasting at Abel’s Bar. We opted for the long version, which consisted of 8 generous pours of wine, bread, and a charcuterie board. The tasting consisted of 1 sparkling, 2 whites, 1 rose, 3 reds, and a dessert wine. All of the wines were from Romania. Dario was an excellent wine host and did a great job explaining each of the wines in detail. The price was great considering the size of the pours and the included food. We would definitely recommend Abel’s Bar!
I cannot recommend this experience enough! First of all, it is extremely great value for money, with a number of delicious local wines, generous portions, and amazing food to pair with. The atmosphere in Abel’s creates a perfect setting to enjoy all of this, whether you are with your partner, friends, or family in groups big or small - we were also able to enjoy the selection at our own pace, which was a nice touch. However the BEST part of the experience, and what truly made it great for us, was the expert knowledge and perfect interactions from the staff - they tended to us daringly, whilst not being overbearing; they knew tons of information about each of the wines, and specific regions across Romania; and were able to answer all questions we had. Me and the wife will be buying a bottle from the selection to take home as a perfect memoir to our trip. Thank you all at Abel’s!
I have done plenty of wine tastings all over the world and this was one of the best. A good variety of wines a nice local bar and complemented with a delicious cheese and meat platter. It was also one of the most generous wine tastings I’ve done. Recommend if you’ve got a few spare hours in Bucharest
All sort of different wine, just loved it!
Last Saturday we visited Abel’s Wine Bar in Bucharest for wine tasting and had a wonderful experience tasting eight different kinds of Romanian wines. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly, we got to learn about the wines of Romania. Our tasting also included bruschetta and cheese platter. A must-do experience in Bucharest and prior reservation is recommended!
We opted do the early start 5am as it was the day we landed in Bucharest. We were not rushed at all. The restaurant/ bar was quiet and we were the only couple opting for the experience. The wines were delicious and all from romania. The meat and cheese platter was a welcome addition part way through the tasting and went well with the wines we were drinking. As a wine drinker I really enjoyed trying new wines with a knowledgable host explaining about each wine.
We had a lovely time at Abel’s. Some nice wines, a generous amount of cheese and meats and an informative host. Overall a great time learning about Romanian wines and we were here for nearly 4 hours!!
This was an excellent wine tasting experience. We chose the “long” version as it included more pours and a nice charcuterie tray.
We went here twice, once just for a quick drink and then a second time for the long wine-tasting experience. We booked online for the wine tasting but you can just walk in and ask about it. It was absolutely fantastic, a really chilled atmosphere and the wines were all delicious. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and clearly knew lots about the wines and the wine industry in Romania. We had a great time and definitely encourage anyone to visit this place. Great value for money and well worth a visit.
