Matt was an excellent host and was very informative as well as answering all of our questions. It’s a beautiful location so close to Bristol and of course the wine and cider are excellent too. Excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended.
Wonderful experience! Having only just moved down to Somerset from Scotland, we had been looking for a cider farm to take our friends and family visiting from Scotland and Canada on such experience but found all the main brands' farms fully booked for weeks. Wild West Cider and Wine Farm sounded different but initially showed no availabilities either. After contacting them to double-check, the owners got straight back to us and very accommodatingly made room for all of us on their next tour. The place was easy to find and set in an idyllic Somerset countryside picturesque spot, close to the city yet incredibly peaceful. The owners welcomed us warmly and led us on a very interesting tour, which made us feel part of their venture and family. The tasting session was thoroughly pleasant, with generous amount of their delicious produce and of carefully chosen local cheeses, which accompanied their cider and wine beautifully. We loved every produce, which they create with such thought and care for the environment and their craft. We happily bought each of their produce and some merch. to share with our friends and family back home, as we truly fell in love with their fantastic drinks, diverse yet loyal to their ethics. Our Canadian folks are wine connaisseurs and accustomed to visiting vineyards all around Canada, the US, and Europe; they were charmed by the Wild West story, family, produce and visit, and said they had never felt such genuine love from other producers for their craft, as well as warm and personalised care for their customers. We will definitely be back as they offer other types of events too, and we want to introduce these wonderful produce and visit experience to everybody we know!
Personable & engaging tour guide, interesting tour, and excellent selection of ciders and wines to try at the end.
Lovely evening with Matt in his beautiful vineyard/orchard, hearing all about ups and downs of wine and cider production. Delicious produce. Relaxed and authentic. Thank you
We enjoyed a really fascinating tour around the vineyard and orchard, tasting the very delicious organic whine wine and cider in the North Somerset countryside. It was good to chat with other visitors too! We would highly recommend a visit.
We had a great afternoon with Matt and Sean. The rain was persistent but nevertheless we enjoyed a tour of the vineyard, before sheltering in the barn where we learned about the wine and cider making processes. The four of us enjoyed the tasting of several ciders and a wine and the others on the visit were great company too. Would highly recommend.
Had a lovely visit to Wild West. Sean was our host and he was very welcoming and friendly. Had a tour of the vineyard and the orchard and Sean shared a brief history of how Wild West came about as well as the challenges and successes they have had over the last 9 years since starting off in 2017. Had a glass of white in the vineyard and then 4 different ciders when we got back to the building. Plenty of crackers and cheese which was replenished as soon as it got close to running out!
The entire experience was both informative and fun from start to finish. The tour of the vineyard and orchard was insightful, Sean was engaging and we enjoyed hearing everything he had to say about the business. The samples of wine and cider were all delicious so obviously had to buy some on the way out! Would definitely recommend for a nice afternoon out - thanks again :)
Our host and guide, Sean, was very friendly and welcoming on arrival. We arrived early as we had travelled by public transport, so he kindly showed us where the bathroom was and invited us to take a seat until the rest of the group arrived. The tour started on time, and Sean gave us an informative tour of the facility, clearly explaining the processes involved and answering all of our questions with ease. Afterwards, we were seated and served chutney, cheese, and crackers while being introduced to a variety of drinks, each accompanied by interesting information. We were able to sample a generous selection of drinks and enjoyed plenty of cheese and crackers. As many guests had walked to the venue, there was no sense of being rushed at the end of the experience, which made for a very relaxed atmosphere. There was also a shop on site where we purchased a few items. We appreciated that there was no hard sell—just a friendly opportunity to browse and buy if we wished.
We really enjoyed learning about the vines and the orchard and the whole process from start to finish...cider was all so different and came away with some lovely samples to try at home. Shaun was a great host.
