Classically educated, he was a writer, a formidable warrior, a leader, statesman, gardener, and patron of the arts, science and culture. We'll explore the Palace complex together, learn its story and reveal secrets discovered by archaeologists and researchers only a few years ago. There is so much to know about the early history of Wilanów, its majestic landscape, its artistry and deep symbolism, and the legendary battle that shaped European history and established King Jan as a truly heroic figure.

Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanow

The history of the Wilanow Palace, a wonderful Baroque royal residence, began on April 23, 1677, when a village became the property of King John Sobieski III. The first museum at Wilanów was opened in 1805 by the palace's owner at the time, Stanisław Kostka Potocki.

Do not order here, it is not reliable
We booked tickets 3 days in advance.
The address of the meeting point to pick them up, leads to an abandoned building near the castle. No information on where to go to collect tickets from a ticket counter is given; so we don't even know if we actually had the tickets. Near the castle there are pick-up posts but the given flash code did not work.
Viator does not give opening/closing times so we arrived too late because tours stop at 4pm on weekdays.
In the end, it is money thrown out the window because no refund is possible and we were not able to visit.

Incompetence
A scam. They sold me a visit to a closed building. I drove 30 km wasting my vacation time finding the site closed. I still await the refund and a proper apology. Shame on you

Vorrei chiarire: questo non è un biglietto d'ingresso al palazzo, bensì un tour audio autoguidato dei giardini/esterni, come chiaramente indicato nel titolo e nella descrizione. Anche quando l'edificio è chiuso, il tour esterno è solitamente percorribile a piedi. Tuttavia, se anche i giardini esterni fossero chiusi, si tratterebbe di un problema serio che dobbiamo segnalare e risolvere. A great day at the Wilanów Palace
The grounds were very well kept and palace exterior detail descriptions were very interesting to hear from the narrator.
