Had an great time, was booked with Cape Town Day Tours and they managed everything for me. Daryl drove me all the way to Gansbaai from Sea Point in Cape Town. Had the chance to see Humpbacks and Southern Right Whales breaching, definetely a highlight of my trip. Weather was great and the captain and crew of the boat did everything they could to get us the best views and photos. Would recommend! Be prepared for the wind, sun and seasickness if you are affected. Geoffrey
The tour was very great from the pick up to the boat tour. Everything went smooth, huge shout out to our driver Tyrone, who was very professional, made you feel very secure and had a lot of information to share. Almost as great of an experience as seeing the whales! We saw the whales and the guys from the boat were very attentive to the people seasick and had a lot of additional information about the whales, which was very nice as well. Wish the team all the best and hope to be able to come back and experience the same greatness. Recommended!
We really enjoyed the whales, they were very close to us. But our driver, Tyrone, was the highlight of the day! He was super kind and allowed us to see a lot of things, we drove around the coast just to let us have a beautiful panoramic view, even was more kilometres for him to drive. He was very very prepared about his country, gave us a lot of explanations about everything, way better than a guide. Also stopped to chase the sunset because we were running out of time because of the traffic, he was very kind. I hope everyone can experience the road with Tyrone, ‘cause he’s the best.
A magnificent and highly recommended experience. We even saw Bryde's whales, something that, it seems, is very rare.
Everything perfect, the guide gave very useful explanations and we were able to see whales, penguins, and seals
We saw great whales. However, the guides were quite listless and just rattled off explanations and information. When we asked a follow-up question because the English was very fast, the answer was 'I already explained that'. We did a lot in South Africa; there are many people who are passionate and truly enjoy people and their profession. Unfortunately, that was not noticeable here. And for that, the price is extremely high by South African standards.
Although we had to turn back on the first day, an hour and a half into the trip, because the boat was cancelled due to wind, the excursion was rescheduled for the next day and it was fantastic! Especially the attention from our guide, Neil. We didn't speak English, and he explained everything to us with the help of a translator. We went along the coast, in addition to seeing the whales, and it was all wonderful!
We booked online through Getyourguide, it was the first time we used this platform and the experience was very positive! They came to pick us up at the hotel and brought us back, extremely kind and punctual. The experience was wonderful, we were able to spot several whale specimens and take photos and record videos from very close up, while still respecting the animals. Highly recommended!
Already from the evening before, the staff contacted us, giving us all the information about the guide, their license, and the pickup time. Bruce was very precise, he arrived well in advance and waited for us. We left by boat (there were 25 of us, we were comfortable on the boat) and already after half an hour we spotted the first southern right whales along with seals and various species of seabirds. Best moment was when we met a group of 4 specimens that put on a real show (I shed a tear of happiness!) Back on dry land we stopped by Hermanus (make a note of the restaurant La Pentola, the food is fabulous). Bruce was then so kind as to take us not to the designated pickup point but to the Table Mountain cable car station! In short, everything was truly perfect!
