Westeros and Dubrovnik Private Walking Tour

Start your unforgettable Game of Thrones adventure at Kolorina Bay, a serene and picturesque cove nestled beneath the towering Lovrijenac Fortress just outside Dubrovnik’s Old Town walls. Known locally as Šulić Beach, this tranquil spot served as a dramatic filming location for the epic Battle of Blackwater in Season 2, where Stannis Baratheon’s fleet met its fiery fate. Kolorina Bay’s striking combination of crystal-clear waters, steep cliffs, and lush greenery creates a breathtaking setting that transports you straight into the world of Westeros. Fans of the series will recognize it as the docks of King’s Landing, where key scenes between Sansa Stark and Littlefinger took place. Relatively uncrowded and loved by locals, Kolorina Bay offers a peaceful and immersive introduction to your tour. From here, you’ll soak in the cinematic history and stunning coastal views before continuing your journey through Dubrovnik’s legendary filming sites.

After your enchanting visit to Kolorina Bay, your journey continues to Pile Gate, the iconic main entrance to Dubrovnik’s Old Town and the grand gateway to King’s Landing in Game of Thrones. This impressive medieval fortress gate, with its towering stone walls and massive wooden doors, was the backdrop for many pivotal scenes in the series, including royal entrances and dramatic confrontations. Walking through Pile Gate, you step directly into the heart of the ancient city’s medieval charm and cinematic history. Surrounded by lively squares and historic architecture, it perfectly captures the bustling energy of King’s Landing’s capital. Here, you’ll get a real sense of the imposing yet vibrant world that shaped the fate of Westeros. Pile Gate’s imposing structure and rich atmosphere make it the perfect follow-up stop on your tour, bridging the serene coastal beauty of Kolorina Bay with the vibrant medieval streets that brought the fantasy realm to life.

Following the dramatic entrance through Pile Gate, your tour leads you down Stradun, Dubrovnik’s famous main street and the bustling center of the Old Town. Known in Game of Thrones as the vibrant streets of King’s Landing, Stradun’s polished limestone pavement, historic buildings, and lively atmosphere set the scene for countless key moments in the series. As you stroll this elegant promenade, you’ll experience the heartbeat of medieval Dubrovnik — where traders, nobles, and commoners once mingled, and where major scenes of political intrigue and royal drama were filmed. The striking blend of Renaissance and Baroque architecture along Stradun perfectly captures the grandeur and tension of King’s Landing’s capital city. This vibrant street invites you to imagine the world of Westeros come alive around you — from bustling markets to royal processions — all framed by the stunning backdrop of Dubrovnik’s ancient walls.

Next, ascend the iconic Jesuit Stairs, famously known to Game of Thrones fans as the “Walk of Shame” steps. This steep, striking staircase leads up from Dubrovnik’s Old Town and was the unforgettable stage for Cersei Lannister’s powerful and humbling scene in Season 5. Made of elegant stone, these stairs not only offer a dramatic glimpse into the show’s intense storytelling but also showcase stunning views over the red rooftops and ancient walls of Dubrovnik. Walking these steps allows you to physically retrace the footsteps of one of Westeros’s most compelling characters, feeling the weight of her journey in the very stones beneath your feet. The Jesuit Stairs blend history, architecture, and cinematic drama, making them an essential stop on your Westeros tour — a place where fantasy and reality truly intersect.

Continue your immersive Westeros journey with a visit to Rector’s Palace, a stunning Renaissance and Gothic landmark that served as the backdrop for several scenes in Game of Thrones. In the series, this impressive building doubled as the Red Keep — the heart of political power in King’s Landing. With its beautifully ornate architecture, arched windows, and intricate stonework, Rector’s Palace perfectly captures the grandeur and authority of the ruling elite in Westeros. As you explore its historic courtyards and façades, you’ll feel the weight of history and intrigue that echoes the palace’s role in the show.
