Sweet Treats and Great Memories
My family and I had an amazing time on the Chocoholics Walking Odyssey Wellington! One of the biggest surprises was just how much of Wellington we got to explore. There was quite a bit of walking, which turned out to be a wonderful bonus. We rode the iconic cable car, strolled through the city's vibrant streets, visited historical sites, and, of course, indulged in an incredible amount of chocolate along the way.
Our guide, Stella, was fantastic. She kicked off the experience by welcoming each of us with a piece of chocolate, immediately setting the tone for the tour. Throughout the afternoon, we visited several wonderful chocolate shops where we sampled handcrafted chocolates, rich hot chocolate, chocolate cookies, decadent pastries, and so many other delicious treats. I didn't think it was possible, but by the end of the tour we were officially "chocolated out!"
Stella was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and so much fun to spend the afternoon with. Our group quickly bonded, and we turned into a lively, laughter-filled bunch. Rather than simply leading the tour, Stella embraced the energy, joined in the fun, and made the experience feel warm, personal, and memorable.
We had an absolutely wonderful time and would recommend this tour a thousand times over. If you love chocolate, enjoy discovering local businesses, and want to experience more of Wellington on foot, this tour is well worth the money. You won't be disappointed!

Chocoholics dream tour
Fantastic tour with Stella. We experienced Cable cars, toured the botanical gardens, walked on backstreets as we covered the entire city, sampling chocolates along the way. Stella knows the city and all its history which she shares so easily. What an unexpected and fun way to tour Wellington.

Chocolate lovers dream
Our tour guide Stella was very knowledgeable about the city of Wellington and the New Zealand Nation. She took us to 4 remarkable little Chocolate Shops to taste and sample their delicious Chocolate. We had more Chocolate than we could eat. Thank you for a terrific experience.

Tour the Town with Chocolate
We had an amazing chocolate adventure with Stella! Unfortunately the cable car was down for maintenance (which happens in August for 2 weeks) so Stella and her wonderful partner picked us up in their Tesla to drive us to the top for the views. From there we headed down toward the botanical gardens, which of course weren’t in bloom, but were still quite lovely.
The first chocolate shop was a short walk from the gardens and was such a delicious experience! We had some hot chocolate and tried 3 different types of chocolate, where the ingredients were locally sourced. Even the artwork on the chocolate bars was done by local artists! La Petite Chocolate shop in Thorndon was delightful!
We journeyed on to a quaint street, then headed past the beehive to Bohemian Chocolate. There we sampled some gelato and 3 chocolates, including some with Hokey Pokey. If you are an American and have never heard of this, and no it’s not the dance, give it a try as it is quite tasty!
For a quick rest, we went to Le Ciel for an amazing cake and tea. The portions are enormous! It is a small business run by a dedicated young entrepreneur who makes excellent cakes!
By the time we got to Devonport Chocolates, we were quite full, but still had a few samples, which were also delectable! The shop is inside an old bank that has been turned into a small mall. It was really interesting.
Finally, our last stop was Wellington Chocolate Factory. There we could see the machines they use to make their chocolate on site, which was really cool!
I’m not a huge chocolate lover like my mom who picked this tour, but this was a fantastic tour and Stella was fabulous! I am happy we did it as it was a unique way to see the city.
Thanks Stella!

Chocoholics Go.
My mate told me about an awesome tour in Wellington NZ plus the guys contact details to book. Basically said “whatever you do, don’t miss it!”
We booked the Wellington Chocoholics Walking Odyssey tour. What a fabulous and unforgettable experience. We tasted of a range of chocolate treats, plus hot chocolate, chocolate stout and pastries.. all from a range of locations around historic Wellington city. This is a 10 out if 10 tour that will blow your tastebuds away. Our guide was brilliant too. Like my mate said. “Don’t miss it!!!”
