This Budapest Evening stroll starts in the early evening and lasts for 1-1,5 hours which is perfect, because you still have time afterwards to have dinner or go out to explore the nightlife of Budapest.
Also, this tour is ideal for those who cannot take longer walks because of health or any other issues, the pace and the route is easy. It starts and ends on the Pest side of the city, takes you from Elisabeth square through the downtown and the famous shopping street, the Váci street to the Great Market hall on Fővám square If you find that you still have some energy left at the end, it’s recommended to cross the Liberty bridge and walk up to the top of the Gellért hill (takes about 15-20 minutes) and admire the view of the beautiful, lit up city. You can learn about some of the Hungarian and Budapest’s history, culture, cuisine and nightlife during this useful, compact walk.

We walk along the Danube Promenade where you will see lots of urban art statues, the Municipal Concert Hall and will see the picturesque panorama of the Buda Castle Hill and Gellert Hill. You will also learn about the Hungarian history and heroes in brief.

We show you the Grand Central Market and speak about the major flea, festive and farmers's market in the city, teach you how to bargain, and what to take home as souvenirs from Hungary.

We stop at Liberty Bridge topped by Turul birds and show you the Romantic Gellert Thermal Bath, the Cave Church and Monastery, the biggest bottle opener in town called Liberty Statue, some recent urban art hidden on the bridge and much more.

Great introduction to Budapest
Our guide Edith talked very eloquently , she was fun, relaxed and knowledgeable. It was possible to ask her whatever you wanted.
This walk showed us 4 main attractions : st Stephen's church, fat police man, shoes monument and parliament and she gave the main point and take home messages about those. She also talked about hungarian cuisine and some key points in hungarian history and what to visit next (what are the rest of the must see and things to do in Budapest).
As she also gave some information about how to get around Budapest (transportation) and as we knew some of that stuff already, i would suggest this tour to someone who doesent know anything about budapest as an introduction. Next time, i would go to a more specific tour such as Buda castle or jewish quarters.
In the end, it was a good choice for us because Edith discovered some gems which we wouldn't know without her - for example there is a farmers market on Sundays in Szimpla Kert. :)
