Experience the world’s first Viking virtual reality 3D adventure inside a replica of a Viking house. You might even meet a real-life Viking or two! Visitors will learn about the Viking history of the city through a memorable virtual reality experience. This activity is suitable for all visitors over the age of 8 years old.

The King of the Vikings is a Virtual Reality Experience where visitors will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Vikings who founded Waterford over 1000 years ago. Visitors will be welcomed into a reconstructed Viking house where they will experience the thrill of raiding the Viking settlement they called 'Vadrefjordyr'.

Our Viking guide was great, and brought history to life in an interactive way! The VR headset part of the experience was great fun too
This was a really different unique experience. Tour guide gave really detailed historical descriptions of the Viking raids and invasions across Europe. Then AR head set experience to watch and view raids. Really interesting and interactive. Recommended for over 8yrs as the AR head set experience can be quite full on for younger children. An hour in total, sat in Viking house. Adults €12 children €6
Activity divided into two parts, the first descriptive and the second based on virtual reality. The part with virtual reality is beautiful... regarding the descriptive one I struggle to express myself because the girl (Briana) spoke so fast that we struggled to follow her
Travelers should know that Viatour and the museum do not coordinate/ cooperate and they only take about 8 people on a tour - those who booked directly! They had no idea or information that we had booked or several other people we didn’t know. And the rest of the day was booked and we couldn’t be added in at any other time. Incredibly disappointing and now we want our money back and won’t book through Viatour again.

Great experience and fantastic guide
I did this with my 3 children (13, 12 and 9) yesterday and we all loved it. We've been chatting about it and what we learned since. The lovely 'viking' at the reception desk was so friendly and chatty and the guide that gave our talk before the experience was excellent. My kids were sold on it for the VR but we all learned so much and had lots of fun. Its great value, 100% recommend this one!
We really enjoyed our visit. The guide was very knowledgable and interesting. The VR was great. I would recommend this to anyone visiiting Waterford.

This is a tourist trap. Overpriced for what is essentially a 40 minute disjointed 3D movie about the history of the Vikings in Waterford. The woman who took our money and explained how things would work was lovely and answered our questions afterwards. But 'the experience ' was disappointing and certainly not worth the ticket price.
