All the experience is hosted by a licensed tour guide that will learn you a lot of interesting information about brown bears and also other beautifull wild animals. Romania has the largest Brown Bear population in Europe, so you can find many places to watch bears in the wildlife. Our trip will start with a short car drive through the Transylvanian wild forests. A very well organised trip, the guide was very reasonable and flexible with our timings to work around us. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. We enjoyed our trip we will book again with him in future for other trips
Alin was an amazing guide! We were picked up from our hotel which made it nice and easy & were then taken to the hide. On our journey we were given lots of interesting facts about bears and Romanias relationship with bears. We got very lucky when we went and saw over 10 bears. Would 100% recommend Alin - my boyfriend is very pleased with his pictures which he got below :)
Based on previous reviews, I booked an excursion to see bears and traveled specifically to Brasov for it. However, I received a message the day before that it was cancelled. Without any statement of reasons. The receptionist of our hotel then called to ask what the reason was. She said that the man she was on the line with could be heard getting startled by the ringing and that a rather unbelievable story followed that a tree had fallen on the hut from which the bears were spotted. While there hadn't been a breath of wind for days. Later it turned out that you can also spot bears just outside a hut. The guide apparently needed the day off with us. Don't book here because you can't cancel it or change it.
Honestly such an amazing experience! 🐻❤️ I had the best time at the bear hide. I got to see several bears really close up, including some adorable cubs, which was definitely the highlight! I also got to see foxes coming around, which was such a cool surprise. The whole experience was really peaceful and felt like I was just quietly watching the animals do their thing. Our guide was lovely and really knowledgeable, and you could tell how much he cares about the animals. Seeing the bears, especially the little cubs, was something I’ll never forget. Such a special experience and 100% recommend if you’re in the area!
We had a fantastic evening with Alin and had the chance to see several amazing bear families and also three foxes.
We really liked the tour. Our guide Alin gave us a lot of interesting information about the brown bears in Romania on the drive to the hide. We were then able to observe and photograph some wild bears searching for treats—apparently hidden beforehand by a ranger—including several mothers with their cubs. For us, the tour was definitely worth it and we are happy to recommend it to others.
