After over 20 years of visiting WDW parks Florida I would say this visit in September has been the most dissatisfying experience we’ve had. Disney has stopped 3 free fast pass experiences and instead have put a fee on fast passes, on top of park entry fees, favouring those that are willing to splash the cash . I always thought Disney was fair, honourable and was always there for ALL of its customers and went out of their way to make sure your experience was unforgettable! However after long standby queues (out of season) favouring those that paid extra for fast passes before allowing the standby queue to proceed we found ourselves only doing 2 rides in 6 hours at the park! There wasn’t a day went by that a ride didn’t break down and we had to wait for maintenance repairs. After standing for hours that’s the last thing we needed! The wait times displayed prior to entry to the ride were inaccurate and often changed whilst in the queue often doubling in time (again due to the fast pass entry system). We as British generally go for 2 weeks and if you had to pay $27 for 3 fast passes per day for a family of four would be extortionate!!! No longer will Disney be at the forefront of our minds when choosing a holiday. Unfortunately for us those days are over! We were very disappointed on this occasion and felt the need to write to Disney services to express our disappointment. Under previous circumstances Disney would have gone out of their way to help you, but on my complaint I got a long winded pre set response which was very disappointing yet again.

Shocking Disney experience app directions
We wanted to get to beaches and cream from Pop Century after hanging made a reservation weeks before arriving. The Disney experience app suggested a route using the skyliners which we got to Epcot and then walk from there to Beaches and Cream at the Yacht club resort. The route from the skyliner sent us on a wild goose chase to the point we entered a restricted area with dangerous opperating equipment everywhere. My wife is a DAS user who struggles with heat due to medications, loud noises and autism that had led to her having a meltdown on what should have been a fairly simple walk. She also has severe asthma which is another reason we try and pre plan our walks and take a long time to do them, only to realise it's sent us completely the wrong way. Not only were these directions dangerous for us, but for younger Disney guests this is just so bad. People rely on these who haven't ever been to WDW before myself included this time) and to be honest I'm quite upset. This was supposed to be our 3 year anniversary/delayed honeymoon to forget years of poor health having put this holiday off. That's the main point of Disney, to loose yourself.... But I didn't think it would be so literal.

A deeply disappointing experience for a family with a disabled child
I am extremely disappointed and angry after our day at Walt Disney World. For a family with a disabled member, the experience was particularly stressful and, in my opinion, completely inadequate. There is, in my experience, no real opportunity to speak quietly and privately with a staff member so that you can simply explain the disability and the person’s actual difficulties, and receive assistance that is genuinely appropriate. I had to spend nearly an hour on the chat explaining what my son experiences when he has to wait in line. My son is disabled, period. I find it extremely intrusive to be forced to explain his behavior and difficulties in such detail, only to be sent links that sometimes do not even work, and when they do, lead to pages and pages of information. And above all, once inside the park, we discovered that at every attraction we had to explain our situation to the staff and ask what we were supposed to do. We were told to wait in line, and then my son was expected to join us afterward. At one point, a staff member even told me that he had to join us by himself. But seriously… if my son were able to do that independently, I would not be asking for a disability accommodation in the first place! 😡 I eventually lost my temper because I felt that I constantly had to prove that my son was actually disabled. And yet, we had all the necessary documentation and had completed the relevant procedures, including TSA Cares and IBCCES. There are supposedly staff members available to help resolve these situations, but they are located in extremely noisy areas. When, like us, you are not fluent in English, it becomes incredibly difficult to explain a complex situation under those circumstances. I also met another family who told me that they had spent almost 5 hours the previous day communicating with Disney, including by video call, just trying to resolve their situation. This is simply unbelievable. In the end, my son was only able to enjoy 3 attractions before he wanted to go back home. And when you consider the price of the tickets, this makes the experience even more upsetting. I find this particularly shocking in a country like the United States, where I would expect people with disabilities to receive exemplary support and consideration. What hurt me the most was the constant feeling that I had to justify myself and almost prove that I was not lying. It is incredibly humiliating when you are simply a mother trying to allow her disabled son to enjoy a day like everyone else. In France, at Disneyland Paris, the process seems much simpler: there is a dedicated desk where you can explain the situation, provide the necessary documentation and quickly obtain an accommodation that allows the disabled person to enjoy the attractions under much better conditions. Yesterday, instead of enjoying our family day, we spent our time fighting to have my son’s needs recognized. And unfortunately, the attitude of some staff members only made our disappointment worse. We found several employees to be rude and lacking in understanding. A huge, huge disappointment. After this experience, I absolutely cannot recommend Walt Disney World to families with a disabled person who expect a simple, compassionate and respectful experience. We came here to create wonderful family memories. Instead, we left deeply disappointed, exhausted, and feeling that we had not been treated with the respect we deserved. An experience we will not forget anytime soon.

Our vacation spot
In my experience I have never had a bad trip to Disney. I live out of state and do not hold a annual pass, I just budget my savings and I’m able to go several times a year with my family. I currently have a trip booked. I try to stay during the festivals and I’m never disappointed. Like everything in life, the price goes up, but that is everywhere not just in Disney. It’s a part of life. In my opinion it’s worth it. My dad took me since I was 3 that was my vacation spot, and I do the same with my son. I stay 2 weeks at a time to have our breaks in between. The staff has always been amazing , my son is autistic so I stay away from days when it’s too crowded or teams are in the park for competition. All in all my experiences are positive. And the atmosphere is delightful.

Extremely unsatisfied
I was a loyal customer of Disney for several years. I stopped flying in my family some years ago as well as buying yearly tickets for every one of my grandchildren because of the increase of everything I decided to give it anonymous chance. I am military and can only afford going because of the discounts. Well my son in law , his wife and their children were so excited. Expedia told us that when we are on property to go down to the front desk , show your military ID and the discount would be applied for the Swan resort stay…. I was told sorry we do not give discounts for the resort, Expedia would, well that is an online service and required seeing the military ID which they can’t see so it made total sense for the desk to apply it. We also purchased Blizzard Bch tickets yesterday the 4th and was told again go to the park with the online store purchase being a holiday go to the guest service and was told again sorry……. This is unacceptable!! I hope Disney contacts me or them and does the right thing. This news made the trip very upsetting. They checked out this morning and flying back today.

A Disney Lover’s Honest Review
I want to start by saying that I absolutely love Walt Disney World, and I will continue to visit. Disney has been a special place for my family for years, which is exactly why this review is coming from a place of disappointment rather than anger. After spending two weeks at Disney recently, it became impossible to ignore how much of the resort is showing its age. Many attractions desperately need refreshing, repainting, and deep cleaning. The queues in several attractions were visibly dirty, carpets were stained and worn, and many ride elements looked scuffed and neglected. For example, the Winnie the Pooh attraction could benefit greatly from a thorough cleaning and refurbishment. Many of the scenes and ride vehicles looked dirty and worn, and it takes away from the magic and attention to detail that Disney was once known for. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated experience—many attractions throughout the parks felt the same way. The restrooms were another major issue. The bathroom attendants work incredibly hard, and this is not a criticism of them. It simply seems that they cannot keep up with the volume of guests. Some restrooms appeared to be largely ignored throughout the day and were noticeably dirty. We also had a few disappointing interactions with Cast Members. I completely understand that their jobs can be difficult and that they deal with challenging guests every day. However, when guests are being kind and respectful, they shouldn’t be met with attitude or indifference. Another frustration was paying full admission to Animal Kingdom while a significant portion of the park is under construction. Charging full price when major areas are unavailable feels unfair to guests. Disney continues to invest in projects around the resort, but I wish some of that focus would return to the parks themselves. The magic has always been in the details, and right now many of those details are being overlooked. Lastly, the food quality could use improvement as well. For the prices being charged, the dining experience should be better. I still love Walt Disney World and will absolutely return. I simply hope Disney starts paying closer attention to the things that made the parks feel so magical in the first place. Guests are paying premium prices and should receive a premium experience in return. And Disney—if you happen to read this—I have an eye for details and notice everything. Hire me for a day, hand me a clipboard, and I’ll gladly show you every queue, restroom, and attraction that could use a little extra magic.

It's not a small world
We have visited many times before, but this was our first with two young children. Our eyes were opened to the lack of rides for children under 39". The rides which were suitable were more often packed out with adults - average wait for Its A Small World often exceeded an hour. Visiting mid week in May we had hoped the queues would be moderated, but how wrong we were. Is there no limit to the number of people that are allowed in on a day! Park tickets are expensive, to which you add $20 parking, then food or drinks at mega prices (you are not allowed your own food) - for example a small hotdog with a packet of crisps cost $8.94 plus tax! Why can an older person in a mobility scooter get into shows, while a sleeping six months old cannot?

Less than rival parks
Last visit 2011. Hasn't improved. Lacks the 'Disney Bubble' feel we experience at Disneyland. MK feels more like a carnival or state fair, than what Disney used to represent. Quality is lacking, just not maintained as well as the original park in CA. Epcot was better. Since the last visit, I have experienced Universal parks and find they are better run in several ways ... Universal parks: clean grounds; clean tables in food areas (staff is wiping down the second you stand up); staff assist seating in many food areas is amazing; water refill stations at every drink kiosk; organized park entry; organized crowd control. WDW MK: grounds ok but not as nice as they used to be; filthy tables in every eating area we saw, no staff seen cleaning anything; too few tables, no staff assistance, end up sitting on sidewalk to eat; way too few water refill stations!!; park entry is a free-for-all, running and pushing. Hard to enjoy the day with all of this going on. WDW Epcot: grounds nicer than MK; filthy tables at food service; too few tables; WAY too few water stations!!; park entry calmer than MK. Easier to enjoy the day at Epcot than MK. Resort stays: We did stay on property, and "free" parking at parks is included -- that is one thing Dis has over Univ. We also enjoyed the 30 min EPA (but Univ gives an hour EPA at their properties).
