Do Not Recommend Viator review: Waikiki Turtle Canyon Guided Snorkel: Turtle GuaranteeWe were really excited for this excursion because we’ve been snorkeling a lot and have snorkeled with the turtles in Hawaii before. However, this was not a great experience. The main guy, he’s older and probably the owner, was incredibly rude. He was not welcoming or pleasant, and was barking orders at his staff, while simultaneously snapping at customers telling them to get out of the road. The area in front of the boat is a road and vehicles occasionally drive through and he felt the need to tell us and others to get out of the way when no cars were around. It wasn’t fun and was different than any other snorkeling experience I’ve ever had. Usually, the staff are friendly, funny, and laid back but that’s the opposite of what we experienced. The staff was amazing and extremely knowledgeable! On the ride out we saw some dolphins at the front of the boat. At the reef we saw about 15 sea turtles, with multiple of them surfacing! Reservations: Heavy rains last night and this morning so brown water started coming in around 11am from Ala Wai. Lokahi went to TC for the 11am to avoid it. Went on 12:30pm trip and a few sets were pretty hairy (maybe 8ft). With such small numbers they are able to make it work. Crew was great and adjusted it to what the customers wanted to do. Cut CK crew today and tomorrow at 2:30pm since Lokahi will run the 3pm trips. Very low numbers so Luci and Natalie went home after the 9:30am trip. Hanna went home after the 11am trip since we only had 8 on the 3pm. She cut her heel on the mooring and stubbed her big toe pretty bad on the dock yesterday. On-going items: Tried to order fuel for Lokahi, waiting on their response. We switched slips just incase and Donovan is scheduled early for tomorrow. Ordered alcohol for pick up on Friday Ordered more towels, dramamine, sea bands, Blue Lizard sunscreen, and a new trash can cover for CK One of the steel poles detached from the base on top deck where it supports the slide. Donovan was able to pop it back in and it is stable so it is good to go. I can send pictures if you want to see it for reference. Square docking station on Lokahi is no longer charging so we need to replace it. It looks like the plug-in port is damaged. I will look further into this tomorrow because I am assuming it is out of the 1-year warranty-- I am having trouble getting logged into the account using the main log-in. I can't manage devices from my account so need to use the info@livingoceantours.com log-in and the forgot password thing isn't sending. Looked at cooler on Lokahi with broken hinge -- i think it's okay for now since it is still keeping drinks cool and we can save that expense for later. I will get more gasoline for the back up generator tomorrow and will hold off on scheduling a repair guy until you give me the go ahead. He works with Anabelle on Friday so she will continue to train him on lines. He is good on everything else. Luci is now requesting Saturday and Sunday off for school. I told her she couldn't have both days off, as it isn't fair to the rest of the FT crew. She said she will work with the current schedule and can try to switch moving forward.
