Soldiers from both countries march in perfect drill, going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. As the sun goes down, nationalistic fervour rises and lights are switched on marking the end of the day amidst thunderous applause. Transfer Back to Hotel/Amritsar.

We asked for a transfer to the Atari border. It was not just a round trip pick-up and drop-off, but also a few stops along the way and a brief explanation because we had plenty of time. At the time of my visit, the Indo-Pa border was closed and it is a border dedication event, but there will be singing and dancing performances from both sides about an hour before that time. Foreign nationals enter through the fast lane with their passports and enter the block closest to the border. This is the tour, and you may be able to catch your own taxi and get there even cheaper. However, there is peace of mind as local taxi companies arrange this through booking sites. I think it is easy to avoid problems such as aggressive customer attraction and snatching at tourist spots because local Indian drivers are with us. We also asked them to suggest a tour to the Golden Temple the next morning. I think it is convenient for people who want to see Amritsar efficiently.

We booked a taxi to attend the Wagah/Attari border ceremony and were very impressed with the service. The car was spotless, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and for security the company even sent us photos of the car and driver in advance. Our driver was professional, polite, and gave us helpful tips for attending the ceremony. Although his English was limited, he still took the time to explain about Attari and made the journey comfortable and informative. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the border ceremony.

This is an entertaining place to visit. There were over 20,00 people and all were cheering top of their voice. An experience not to be missed.
Good experience. To see when you are in Amritsar. Come without bag, with a bottle of water, ID and phone/camera. Foreigners can access the VIP area. Do not hesitate to ask and insist if necessary, it works every time. Last point, a little before the end, go down to the gates, there will be access to the first arrivals to take photos with the Indian military in front of the border gate;-)
