From the moment we met Mohammad, Zaid, and their family, we knew this would be much more than an ordinary tour. They welcomed us with genuine warmth and shared their home, culture, and traditions in a way that made this one of the most memorable travel experiences we've ever had. Exploring Wadi Rum by jeep was incredible, but what made it truly special were the stories behind every place we visited. Mohammad and Zaid brought the desert to life by explaining Bedouin history, customs, and their deep connection with this extraordinary landscape. Their passion and knowledge made us appreciate Wadi Rum on a completely different level. Spending the night in their cave was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. It was a unique opportunity to experience the desert as Bedouins have for generations. Sleeping safely inside the cave, enjoying the silence beneath a sky filled with stars, and waking up surrounded by the desert's peaceful beauty was something no luxury camp could ever replicate. The traditional dinner was another experience we'll always remember. Watching food being prepared in the traditional Bedouin way, sharing tea and coffee around the fire, and simply spending time together made us feel like welcomed friends rather than visitors. What impressed us most was their respect for nature and the simple, sustainable way they live in harmony with the desert. They didn't just show us Wadi Rum—they helped us understand it. If you're looking for an authentic experience instead of a typical tourist trip, Mohammad, Zaid, and their family are the people to choose. Their kindness, hospitality, and love for their culture create memories that will stay with you long after you leave. Thank you for welcoming us into your world and giving us an experience we'll treasure forever.
We had such a fun time exploring the desert with Khalid. The tour was amazing, the food was very tasty, and the beds were very comfortable! The bathrooms were also very nice and had showers. It was such a fun day, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jordan!
It is hard to sum up our experience with Mohammed and his family at the Wadi Rum Cave Camp. It was a deeply affecting experience and we can't wait to return, for several days next time. The communication was great, and Khaled picked us up as planned when we arrived and started our jeep tour. The team had worked so well to plan an itinerary for us based on what we had communicated that we were interested in. After some hiking, we had a delicious meal and a small siesta before continuing with the rest of our tour and checking in to the camp. I don't know how I'll ever be able to hike again without yearning for this hike! We spent two full days and two nights at the cave camp. The accommodations were perfect, the food was wonderful, but best of all, the people were so kind and welcoming. We truly felt like part of the family and wanted to stay much longer - next time we come, and there will be a next time - we will do just that. If you are reading reviews trying to find the most authentic, best experience in Wadi Rum - stop. You found it. Skip the glamping bubble nonsense and stay with this beautiful family at this beautiful camp.
It was amazing experience everyone must experience this once in their life time. It was fun time with khaled we were talking about bedouin lifestyle till mid night. Had endless tea ☕️ The cave view was extremely unreal.
Absolutely superb from start to finish. From the moment Kahled & Mohammed met us at the carpark we knew we were in expert hands. Kahled was our guide for the two days and we really enjoyed learning about the Bedouin culture and particularly hearing about his life. His English was fabulous and we enjoyed his attention to detail and his sense of humour. We spent long hours talking around the fire. We also enjoyed how different family members dropped by which added to the conversation and experience. The sleeping cave was extremely comfortable and warm (I needn’t have worried about being chilly as there was beautiful warm bedding) Food absolutely delicious - thank you Ahmed (spelling?) we marvelled at the wonderful food you produced for us. Our one day desert adventure was also memorable with Kahled going out of his way to find quiet breathtaking spots. The sunset over the desert, sitting fireside with a tea perched on top of a hill is etched in our memories. Thanks so much Mohammed Kahled & Ahmed for creating something we’ll be talking about for years
We had a wonderful stay at Mohammad’s place. He welcomed us very warmly, along with his brothers and cousins. Everyone was incredibly kind. The food was delicious, the fire was beautiful, the night walk was very special, and the sleeping place was gorgeous! We had an amazing time with my fiancé and my parents. I will definitely come back when I return to the desert. Thank you so much for your kindness, Mohammad and Sabat!
From childhood, the host has lived and experienced the Bedouin way of life, and his stories were incredibly rich and authentic. Listening to his firsthand experiences gave us a deep understanding of Bedouin life, culture, and legends. Sharing coffee brewed over a campfire and enjoying traditional local food inside the Bedouin camp made the experience even more special. It wasn’t just a tour — it was a truly life-changing experience. The host’s deep knowledge and excellent communication skills made everything engaging and easy to understand. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn and feel something truly genuine.
Absolutely magical!! We had a spectacular experience which far exceeded our expectations- which were already high. We have had many amazing travel experiences and this one was one of the best of all times. Each segment felt special and distinct - we loved the combination of adventure and learning and beauty. The beds at night were cozy and warm despite the cold weather and the camp was beautiful at night. We felt well cared for. The food was traditional and amazing. We had very interesting conversations with our fabulous guide Khalid (not sure on the spelling!) It was an authentic down to earth experience. Waking up in the morning was glorious.
What an experience! Suleman took us all over Wadi Rum and went hiking with us after the tour. We had tea by the fire all evening and had a nice chat. Even in December you can sleep here warm under the stars.
