You can reach the crater with a climbing walk of 20/25 minutes. The crater entrance is included with an internal volcano guide. Pompeii is a vast archaeological site, once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, it was buried under meters of ash and pumice from the catastrophic eruption in 79 AD. The site is constantly evolving thanks to continuous excavations, and offers new discoveries every year. An expert professional guide is highly recommended, to better visit its most important structures in detail in relaxation. The 'skip the line' guide is on request, and is not included in the tour price (2/3 Hrs)

The site is constantly evolving thanks to continuous excavations that offer new discoveries every year. A professional private guide is highly recommended to be able to visit it in detail, relaxing in its most important structures. The guide is on request and will help you skip the long lines at the ticket office and is not included in the tour price. A stop of 2/3 hours is foreseen.

Vincenzo was an amazing tour guide! He picked us up from the Naples airport, provided us with water and kept our bags safe while we toured Pompeii and hiked Vesuvius. He even let us stop in at a local restaurant in the Vesuvius area before driving us down to the Amalfi Coast. He was able to provide us with tons of information on the areas, give us suggestions on what to do and what to avoid. Fantastic day spent with the always charming, always happy, always caring Enzo. Nothing was too much to ask, quality of local knowledge superb, communication brilliant. We asked for a slight detour to view the Scampia, where the series Gomorrah was filmed. Enzo took this in his stride, before taking us on to Pompeii and then Vesuvius. Stopping for a lovely lunch on the way. Highly recommend the private tour, and if your lucky, Enzo will be your guide.
