Your guide meets you at Javel Métro (Line 10) and travels with you on the RER C - 30-35 minutes that aren't dead time, as they set the scene: the politics, mythology and audacity of what Louis XIV built. Skip the queues with your timed pre-booked tickets and step straight into the Palace for a 90-minute tour through the Royal Chapel, King's Grand Apartment, Hall of Mirrors, and Queen's Apartments - each room given the context it deserves. Then head to the terrace for a guided intro to the Gardens - Le Nôtre's masterplan, the Grand Canal, the Fountain Basins and the Sun King's symbolism. Your guide then orients you for independent exploration: routes to the Trianons and how to get back to Paris. Your guide meets the group at the exit of Javel Métro Station (Line 10)in Paris and enjoy a comfortable ride together by train to Versailles. Train ticket distribution, group briefing and introduction to the day.
90-minute guided tour through the Royal Chapel, the King's Grand Apartment (seven ceremonial rooms), the iconic Hall of Mirrors, and the Queen's Apartments - with stories of Louis XIV, Marie Antoinette and the French court brought to life by your licensed guide.
After the palace, You'll step out onto the terrace for a guided introduction to the Gardens. You'll experience first hand André Le Nôtre's masterplan, the Grand Canal, the Fountain Basins and the Sun King's symbolism embedded throughout. Your guide will then advise you on the best routes to the Trianons as well as the best way to spend your time in the immense gardens. With your ticket, you'll also have access to Marie-Antoinette's Trianon Estate (Grand and Petit Trianon), a separate palace-like complex located within the extended Versailles grounds.
