Itinerary
You will be greeted at the cruise ship port and shown to a modern, comfortable, and air-conditioned vehicle. Your professional driver will then transfer you through the beautiful Italian countryside. The journey takes roughly 2-2.5 hours. When booking your service you will have a choice between a transfer only, or a transfer combined with a tour of Venice.
Piazzale Roma is the last car-accessible point in Venice, making it the ideal drop-off location. For 'only transfer' passengers, the journey ends here. For those booking a guided tour, you will have a choice between two options: Option 1 - Transfer with Walking Tour: After arriving at Piazzale Roma, store your luggage securely and join your expert local guide for a walking tour of Venice. Explore highlights like the Rialto Bridge, Campo San Polo, and St. Mark's Square. The tour ends at Piazzale Roma, where we’ll assist with your onward journey. Option 2 - Transfer with Deluxe Tour: Begin with a private water taxi ride along the Grand Canal to St. Mark's Square. Your guide will show you Venice’s top sights, including St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace (from the outside). Enhance your experience with a private gondola ride. Includes return water taxi transfer.

At the end of the tour, we will bring you back to your stored luggage at Piazzale Roma, where our team can assist with your onward journey to your hotel or airport. Please note that post-tour arrangements are not included in the price of the tour.

The pickup was stressful. 9 am came and went and no driver. We were one of the last people left from our ship waiting for a ride. On the way to Venice there was little to no conversation with the driver, but he was on the phone either making or receiving calls. There was also an issue with the driver as to who our contact was in Venice. I had a hard time understanding what he was looking for and it took me a while to find what he was looking for in my correspondence about this trip. I assumed he would have been told beforehand who we were supposed to meet in Venice. As I said, very stressful. Once we got to Venice, Adair took over and walked us to our hotel and got us settled. My husband had unfortunately left his backpack on the water taxi and she coordinated with the driver to meet somewhere to retrieve it. She took us on a great orientation tour of the city. Steered us to a great restaurant for a snack and sat with us at the end of the tour to recommend restaurants and things to see and do for the rest of our journey in Venice

First of all, we are truly sorry that the pickup and transfer to Venice felt stressful at the beginning of your day. Regarding the pickup timing, we would like to clarify that the driver was not delayed due to our operations or navigation system. Due to the number of ships docking at the port, the ship authorities required the driver to wait a few meters further from the usual meeting point in order to manage the traffic and passenger flow safely. We understand that this may have caused confusion while you were waiting, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the limited conversation with the driver, this was most likely due to the language barrier. Our drivers are local transfer drivers whose role is to bring guests safely from the port to Venice, and they do not always speak English fluently. The guide is the person who takes over upon arrival in Venice and provides the full assistance, local information, orientation, and support during the tour experience. As for the phone calls during the drive, we would also like to clarify that these are unfortunately sometimes necessary for operational reasons. The driver needs to inform us at Vexperio, as well as the guide, when the transfer has started, and then remain in contact with the guide to provide updates on the estimated arrival time at Piazzale Roma. On this occasion, due to an accident on the road into Venice, the arrival time was affected and the driver needed to stay in communication with the guide to provide accurate updates. This allowed the guide to adjust the meeting arrangements and also coordinate the water taxi transfer in advance to ensure everything proceeded smoothly. We are very sorry if these necessary communications affected your transfer experience, but they are essential to make the handover in Venice as seamless as possible. The pick up and everything was on time although we were packed in like sardines and I thought that we had a private water taxi. I also thought we were going to be picked up right in front of our hotel. It turns out if we ordered a water taxi from the Rialto hotel that it would’ve picked us up right in front of the hotel. My husband is on a walker and I made it clear that we wanted to be picked up at the hotel. Although it was to the left of the hotel up and downstairs.

In our tour description, we specify that this option includes ground transportation from the port to Piazzale Roma, which is the furthest point in Venice accessible by car. Options that include water taxis and guided tours are part of the “Transfer plus Deluxe Tour” package. We also mentioned in our messages prior to your trip that drop-off would be at Piazzale Roma and provided guidance on how to reach your hotel from there. Driver arrived 1 hr later than the 7:30am agreed upon time but our cruise ship did arrived very early at 5:00am. It was very pricy for how long we had to wait. Should have ordered the transfer to arrive later & got off the ship later.

Our driver was a very good driver. He was prompt, helpful with luggage, and courteous. Very pleasant. He even waited on us when we were delayed 1 hour getting off our ship!
