Itinerary
Ljubljana, the capital and largest city in Slovenia, is the cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative centre of the country. It is renowned for its rich history, which is reflected in the unique architectural heritage. Its old town centre is embraced by Ljubljana Castle and the river Ljubljanica where the feeling of the city is the strongest. On your trip, you will encounter ancient and modern architecture. You will visit the old town center where you will admire the works of the Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, who took an important part in designing the Ljubljana’s most famous bridges, town squares and parks. In a little more than three decades, Jože Plečnik transformed Ljubljana from a provincial city to the capital of the Slovene nation and reshaped the urban part of the city. His influence can be felt everywhere, but mostly along the river Ljubljanica. On your trip, you will visit some of the most interesting buildings and monuments, such as the Ljubljana Town Hall, the Triple Bridge, the Shoemakers’ Bridge, Ljubljana Cathedral, the Robba Fountain, Prešeren Square, Congress Square and other attractions. The symbol of the city is the Ljubljana Dragon. It is depicted on the top of the tower of Ljubljana Castle and on the Ljubljanica - crossing Dragon Bridge. It symbolizes power, courage and greatness.
Bled is an Alpine town which represents one of the oldest and most beautiful tourist destinations in Slovenia. Its main attraction is the lake which surrounds Bled Island. The island has several buildings, the main one being the Gothic church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The church has a make-a-wish bell and is frequently visited by newlyweds and other guests. Lake Bled will certainly leave you speechless since it offers various sport activities and represents a place where you can spend the most romantic moments of your life. On the trip, you will walk around the lake enjoying the fresh alpine air and watching swans and ducks at play. Also, you will admire Bled Castle built on a precipice above the glacial lake which according to written sources is the oldest Slovene castle. At the end, you will pass by some other local monuments and refresh ourselves with a delicious vanilla and custard cream cake called cremeschnitte (kremšnita). You will also have a chance to take some beautiful photos of the lake, island, castle and the nearby Alps.

Maxim is wonderful, knowledgeable about history of Slovenia and other countries and very patient. I would highly recommend to book a tour with him!
Lubljana was such a beautiful charming historical town easy to navigate and lots of eating places. Lake Bled was simply enchanting
This was a convenient way to see Slovenia as a daytrip from Trieste. It's designed for cruise ship passengers who have limited time, so keep that in mind. Our guide was good, but it would've been better if they'd prearranged the food stop in Lake Bled and Ljubljana rather than let us loose as a group with limited time.
Worth the long journey, We would love to go to the places for longer visits. Very good commentary by guide
Beautiful places/views. I do recommended. As a constructive comment, the tour company should probably charge a few more dollars and extend it one more hour. In our case, we just had 55 min to see ljubljana and this included eating—we had to rush and didnt really get to explore at all.
I’m rating this tour lower than I would have because there was so much traffic and backtracking that it deterred from my experience. From what I could gather, two guests booked a tour going only to Ljubljana but were combined with this tour. They didn’t want to go to Bled, so the guide decided to leave them in Ljubljana and have us come back and pick them up. This made the rest of the tour sit through a ton of extra traffic, and seemed unfair to the majority of guests. Viator also says 2 hours in Bled but we had a rushed 55 minutes. The tour is otherwise fine, but I probably wouldn’t have booked it had I known about the backtracking - it added probably an hour of unnecessary car time. In addition, I didn’t feel like I had time in either place to have lunch without missing the whole stop.
It was too short because each place was so beautiful. Good introduction to Slovenia. Has inspired me to return one day.
It is a solid 8 to 8.5 hours in length depending on traffic. Tour included 90 minutes in Ljubljana on your own to shop and eat. Tour guide is very knowledgeable of Slovenia. Easy pick up spot in Trieste near cruise port with 10-15 minute walk from downtown hotel.
Januz, our guide was awesome! Polite, informative and friendly. This was a small group and he made everyone feel included. Very knowledgeable.
Congratulations!! Comfortable trip, everything well organized. The grottoes are beautiful, and the castle visit inside is fantastic as well. I highly recommend it!
