I booked a vegetarian/vegan cooking class, thinking it would just be that, but it wasn't, we made one vegetable tagine and one chicken tagine, which isn't what I want to be seeing and smelling when booking an experience like this. Also the dessert was with butter and yoghurt, so I couldn't eat it. The food that I had was really good, but I would have liked more explanations and stories, for example regarding the spices we used. All in all it was still a nice experience, especially because the other participants were so lovely.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback—we’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the food and had a nice time with the group. We’re sorry that the experience didn’t fully match your expectations regarding a fully vegetarian/vegan class. We understand how important that is, and we want to reassure you that a vegetarian menu was made for you with 6 vegan dishes not only 1 tajine
Very fun experience, both of the host were lovely and so enthusiastic about sharing their culture and recipes with our group , all of the food was amazing . I loved learning about the tea and how much meaning is behind each dish . The only downside is that this not strictly a vegetarian cooking class - it’s a mixed class where they separate the vegetarians & meat eaters ( we each made our own main dishes , there was no cross contamination, which I was grateful for ) .
Fun afternoon which started with shopping in the market for the fresh ingredients. Staff were friendly and enjoyed making the dishes but just be aware that this isn’t a solely vegetarian cookery course- we also cooked a chicken tagine which I wasn’t bothered by my boyfriend isn’t vegetarian but just thought it was worth mentioning.
Kawtar was a great host and guided us all to cooking 4 delicious Moroccan starters as well as a vegetarian tagine (some of the group will make a chicken tagine).
It was a fantastic experience! Certainly one of Marrakech's highlights. From getting fresh ingredients from the market and eating the meal we have prepared. Kawtar provided us great tips and guidance throughout the process. Chef Khmisa welcomed us at the door like we were family, we had the opportunity to experience local hospitality and genuine morrocan food - which is so rich and delicious. My husband and I were delighted and we absolutely recommend it.
Kawtar is a wonderful host, everything was very well organized, very friendly and with clear guidance. I had an amazing experience!
Excellent cooking class! We made 4 Moroccan starters and a veggie tajine. Very interesting to learn the techniques. Highly recommend.
Everything is well organized, shopping together at the market, together you prepare the food, step by step. Everything tasted wonderful - gladly again!
Cutting boards need to be changed. They have past their best time since long ago. Except from that experience was good.
Excellent fun. It is a mixed class, so if you're pure veggie you'll be sharing a table with some meat. But there were plenty of veggie dishes, delicious salads, and a perfect blend of spices. There is the option to buy some of the spices at the end - but this isn't pushed. A brilliant way to see some of the markets and cook local food.
