A truly extraordinary tour because it goes beyond the norm of formal tours where guides are not very free. This tour was frankly an immersion in Moroccan culture and subsi specially! I recommend!
We were a party of 12 people and had an amazing full day tour to the Atlas Mountains and Agafay desert with our very passionated guide Hassan. We did a 2 trekking in the Atlas mountain to a waterfall and continued to the Berber villages where Hassan came from. We had a traditional lunch served at a roof top restaurant with a beautiful view to the mountains. After the the lunch we visit Hassans home where we got served mint tea. Next stop was the Agafay desert where we went a camel ride - which was great fun. Early evening we returned to Marrakech after a fantastic day.
We went as a family of 12 people - aged 11-75 with the best guide Hasan. We were picked up 8:30 at our riad in the centre of Marrakesh and walked to our mini-bus. We drove approx. 1h and visited a small argan oil factory, a few viewpoint and finally ended up in a berber village where we walked to several viewpoints and a waterfall in the mountains. Beautiful. The day ended with a 20 min camel ride - really funny. We had an amazing day 9 hours in total. Our guide was extremely nice, helpful and had a good feeling of our needs and preferences throughout the whole day. Thanks a lot for a great trip!
This trip on the Atlas mountains is a great option to escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. We really enjoyed our diver Mukhtar's company and expertise, who took time to show us and explain whatever we were driving through. He was amazing in guiding us in the middle of Asni's Saturday Market (thank you again for the oranges!). In Imlil, we met our guide Lahcen, a local who took us trekking towards the valleys. He was really available, fun, and extremely good. He's an example of Moroccan hospitality, leading us in his own home for a mint tea. Overall, we really enjoyed our day trip, made even more special by our two guides. The only off note could be the camel tour, which is fun, but definitely too touristy if someone is looking for a more authentic experience.
If you want to spend an unforgettable day in the Atlas Valley and take a breath of fresh air away from the Marrakech furnace, then this excursion is for you! We left Marrakech with Hassan well on time at the start of our Riad in his comfortable 4x4 to reach 70km away, the Atlas Valley with a small Berber village Himlil, at 1900m altitude, we come to the knowledge of Rachid our passionate guide of the mountain for the rest of the day and the 2-3 hours of magnificent hiking in this valley to meet the local inhabitants. Then end this walk with a meal in a guest house with terrace overlooking the Toubkal and enjoy the excellent local tagine in an unforgettable setting. Thanks to Hassan and Rachid for their sympathy and knowledge. We highly recommend this excursion to admire the beautiful scenery far from Marrakech. Mylène and Benoît
We took a day trip out to Atlas Mountains and it was amazing. The day was perfectly planned, the food was amazing and our guide, Rachid was very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Would definitely recommend
Just want to say a BIG thankyou to our private guide Rachid Jellah who made our trip as smooth as it could have been. Thumbs up from all 8 of us, we all enjoyed every minute of the trip (especially walking up the never ended steps LOL) The lunch was fantastic, well worth the effort to hike up to the top, we would never have had the experience without your guide Rachid, please give my regards to your cousin who gave me good price the stone (but don't forget you still owe him 200 dirham for the stone that you dropped. From Cecilia

The guide was on time in our hotel for our pickup. After a ride of one hour we arrived in the first valley. The scenery is very beautiful and the snowy mountains is a treat! We had also a camel ride short but nice due to the scenery. After this we drove to the next valley where we went for a trail with another guide. Hassan our driver and guide was really good and attentive. As he heard that it was my birthday and the birthday of my daughter the day before he prepared a surprise. After a two hour trail in the mountains fantastic he prepared a small picnick with a cake with both my name and my daughter on it :-. Together with a very nice gift for my and my daughter and the right music we celebrated our birthday in the mountains! Fantastic and really sweet of Hasan!! After this short brake we went to a berber family and had a great meal! We also visited a Argan oil cooperative where a nice lady explained how it was produced and which products you can make. There we had also a nice small meal tea and bread with oil. After visiting the other valley we drove back to our Riad in Marrakech with a very nice experience! Recommended.

We were picked up at our riad on time at 9am. After collecting two more participants as well as the guide Mohammed at the hotel, we drove towards the Atlas Mountains. First we went to a Berber market. Then to an argan oil factory where we had a first small breakfast. In the we could do a 15 minute camel ride (was perfectly sufficient). After that we continued up into the mountains and the hike could begin. Mohammed adapted to our pace while running, took sufficient breaks and always explored for us. He explained everything about the Berbers and more in a super English and was open to any questions. The hike itself was a very nice path and went about 2-3 hours in total. With sneakers it went well but hiking boots would probably have been even better. For lunch we stopped at a guest house and were served bread, rice and a delicious tajine. Price quality ratio were really great and thanks to the great guide it was a super exciting trip! Thank you!
