Our guide was great and kept us entertained throughout. There was a mix up about who was going on tour. In fact, we had several problems with viator throughout the week. Before we left the states, we checked on our tour logistics and were informed that because my initial method of payment didn't work ( my credit card got hacked just before the date of payment) that our booking was cancelled, and that we had to book again. We called viator and were told that we needed to rebook on line. However, the three bookings were actually never cancelled and we ended up with duplicate bookings, duplicate texts, duplicate billing, etc. ;even though i responded that we were going to be on the 11am tour, we still got messages about the 10 am tour to Utrecht.). I still need to look into whether I've been double charged for the three tours (Rijksmuseum, Van gogh museum, and walking tour of Utrecht). The guides have all been great, but the internal workings of Viator have been incredibly frustrating this time around.
The guide was very knowledgeable and explained the history very well. If I were touring on my own I might otherwise just see the tourist sites instead of gaining insight on the true historical aspects of Utrecht.

Our guide, a long-term resident of the city, was extremely well informed about the history of the city and provided fascinating details. We discovered new parts of the city center and she added on extra sites, giving us more of her time for free. Also a great recommendation for lunch in a place off the beaten track.
