The guides have even been know to hold hands the entire tour for a very nervous few. This tour is also great for experienced snorkelers. Olowalu Reef is very vast! So much to explore! How long is the snorkel tour? You decide! We don't watch the clock so you can enjoy snorkeling as long as you like!

Our guides will accompany you out over Maui’s oldest reef system in Olowalu. There you will see a variety of corals and sea life including honu, our green sea turtles. The guides will find creatures you can touch and interact with. New to snorkeling? Our guides are very patient and kind when working with guests who are new to snorkeling or just nervous in the water. They will stay by your side and even hold your hand as they guide you around the reef. Not a great swimmer? We provide fitted life vests from size small to XXL. They have under the leg straps so they stay in place and keep you buoyant in the water. Each vest is equipped with a whistle and pass coast guard standards. Yes. Cancel at least 1 day before the start for a full refund. Later cancellations are non-refundable.
The meeting point is We are located along highway 30 at about mile marker 14. You will be sent a text to the phone number you provided with your booking that will have more precise directions. A second text with a google pin will be sent also. It can be used with google maps to bring you right to our location.. Hotel pickup is not part of this experience.

This was the best one on one with Gabriel Ohana ! Directions on where to meet up was easy . We pulled up next to ocean in calm waters a went out the farthest my husband and myself have ever been out in the ocean . We saw a turtle some small fish an eel and Gabriel brought up a starfish crawler an C urgent from the bottom . It was safe and wow the reefs he took us around was amazing !
Very professional company. Excellent communication. The conditions weren’t good on our scheduled day. We received a text with an option to rebook or obtain a refund. We will definitely be rebooking with Gabriel’s Ohana next time we’re on Maui.
This was excellent snorkeling close to the beach. The reef was surprisingly rich and complex. Gabriel was a kind, hardworking host. We snorkeled for a couple of hours and saw a turtle and nice fish.
This was our first time ever snorkeling. Some of us were very nervous. We also have someone who doesn’t know how to swim. Gabriel’s Ohana was very patient and they go by our pace, no rushing, no forcing. We would recommend this for everyone, especially for those who want to try snorkeling but have reservations. They provided everything. Just book and go. There’s also no time limit which is great for those who need a bit more time. We would do this again next time we come back to Maui.

Gabriel’s Ohana was the perfect tour company for first time snorkelers. Gabriel was super patient and a lovely guide, pointing out many cool sea creatures along the way and allowing us to hold sea urchins and star fish! He provided great assistance and tips to all levels: me and my family, who had never snorkeled before, the non-swimmers, and the people who had previously gone. I had a blast on this tour all the while learning about the beauty and the delicate ecosystem of this vast reef. Additionally, the snorkeling is truly unlimited; after everyone had tired out, Gabriel stayed out with me an extra hour while we continued to explore the reef. It felt like a private tour! Thank you Gabriel’s Ohana, for an unforgettable snorkeling experience!

If you feel nervous at all, DON'T! They take such good care of you! And are so patient and kind, and genuinely want to help. So grateful this father and son share their love and knowledge of the ocean with others. Wonderful, amazing experience.
Gabriel got us started at the waters edge. He then guided us further out from shore where we saw a lot of fish and 2sea turtles. I get nervous to be far from shore in an area that I have never snorkeled before, but his quiet confidence was just what I needed to be comfortable. Highly recommend this for new snorkelers as well as experienced ones. A beautiful day in the water!
Thank you to Gabriel’s Ohana for an amazing experience! I was nervous about snorkeling with my 12 year old for the first time, and they put my mind at ease right away. They were incredibly caring and attentive to everyone, and they kept a close eye on my son to make sure he was safe. Unforgettable, beautiful, and educational! 10/10 mahalo ❤️
