Amazing, lovely day

Amazing hike between the volcanoes!! The ride isn’t too bad (about ~2 hrs) but it is definitely worth it. The tour guide was incredible- stopping for coffee, asking us how we were doing, stopping for breaks along the way. We opted to go the long way back and was able to see parts of the forest. Food was offered multiple times as well as water, snacks, and a backpack. I would recommend being a light jacket, hat, and your camera. This was by far my favorite part of the trip.

Dazzling landscape with the best company

We booked the Sunrise among Volcanoes tour, we were surrounded by the Iztaccíhuatl and the Popocatépetl, enjoying the most beautiful views of our trip, including the imposing Pico de Orizaba in the distance. Beyond the natural beauty of the Park, we highlight the kind treatment, the sense of security conveyed, and the care with which our guide, Carlos Romay, attended to us. We would hire his services again. We recommend this tour for nature lovers who want to dedicate a day in their itinerary to adventure in an accessible way.

Unforgettable Day with Carlos and Travesías Mexico

Choosing and trusting our tour to Travesías Mexico was the best decision. Carlos Romay, our guide, is an exceptionally attentive, helpful, kind, and warm person. Always prioritizing our safety and well-being, and at the same time always seeking to please our preferences. Thank you Carlos for everything you did for us so that we could enjoy and spend an unforgettable day.

Good tour

Really good experience, Carlos and Alan were excellent guides. Wasn't too difficult but the altitude made it a bit harder.

A landscape of wonders in the volcanic mountains

There isn’t enough I can say on this review of how good Alan was. He looked after us from the very beginning of the tour before we even got on the shuttle. During the hike, he stopped and took breaks as often as needed for us, he gave us great knowledge on the landscape and the volcanoes were astounding! Once we had our lunch, we went to a local area where he fed a stray dog, and gave us the recommendations of food. Once we got back, he got in contact with our driver and stayed with us until our hotel picked us up, when he didn’t have to! He is a true figure of what a tour guide should be.

Save your money, it is an overpriced simple hike

Save your money and skip and overpriced hike. I am a very experienced hiker that has hiked in many places of the world, with and without guide. I was looking for 3 things with this hike: seeing the volcanos, transportation to the national park (given that I was visiting Mexico without a car), and enjoying the hike. We didn't see the volcanos, because it was cloudy, like it is 90% of the time. The weather it is not the company's fault, of course, but they perfectly know that rain is likely (they recommend you to take extra clothes) and you will not see anything. The hike is a super-lame loop with 300m elevation gain and little attractive in itself. Our guide did not explain the park history, neither the flora or fauna, just kept asking if we were feeling altitude sickness every 5 min. They provide crappy hiking poles and a backpack with water and not very appealing food. In summary: you may end up overpaying for a very simple hike without seeing the volcanos and with a guide that does not try to make the experience more engaging.

Amazing Views Day

Just spent an amazing day walking between Iztaçcihuatl and Popocatepetl with our guide for the trip Bernado who picked us up and took us to the start point then throughout the walk kept us informed about the history of the area while always checking everyone was ok as it takes some acclimmatising at that height when your not used to it. Stopped at the waterfall where we enjoyed the prepacked lunch that they had made for us, before heading back and enjoying more food at a local taco place which was also included in the price. Special shoutout to Jason and Elaine for the stories and banter.
