The State of Chiapas seemed beautiful to me, from the point of view of natural beauty, archaeological sites, towns and cities. San Cristobal de la Casas is a magical city, with great colonial beauty, worth visiting. Its people are very friendly and helpful. It has a very varied hotel industry and multiple restaurants and food options. 100% recommended. I believe it is the greenest and most water-rich state in Mexico.
Our walking tour was well organised and gives you the opportunity to experience typical local customs at two different villages. We have visited two churches and had lunch at a typical family’s place, all entrances and food included in the price. Our guide Fernando was very nice and knowledgeable about the surroundings and the local customs, always making sure everything was going well for us and adapting to our pace during the walks.
