Description
Discover one of Dalmatia's oldest culinary traditions through a hands-on experience. Instead of simply watching, you'll prepare your own traditional bread, shape the dough, and bake it under the peka using the same method local families have passed down for generations. As the bread bakes over hot embers, you'll hear stories about Dalmatian village life, traditional cooking techniques, and the importance of simple, local ingredients. You'll also enjoy a tasting of the famous Zadar Maraschino liqueur before gathering around the table to taste your freshly baked bread with local cheese and extra virgin olive oil. This authentic experience offers a relaxed atmosphere, personal guidance, and a genuine connection to Dalmatian culture that you won't find in a typical cooking class.

If you do only one thing...
If you do only one thing while you are visiting Zadar it should be this!!! Monika is absolutely fantastic. She makes this experience so much more that learning how to make very tasty bread! She is so interesting, informative and fun. I wish her the very best of luck going forward. Hopefully one day I will be back to visit and make the bread "dance" and maybe help with the olive harvest!!!!

Perfect and varied workshop
The workshop was a lot of fun. Monica was fantastic; she told us a lot about traditional bread as well as Croatian culture. She was very relaxed, and you could tell that she was enjoying it a lot.
The group size is perfect! The bread tasting was very delicious.
We would have liked to have the recipe in printed or digital form to take with us.
We highly recommend the workshop!

Bread making extraordinaire!
Monica was fantastic! She is very well informed and taught us a lot about traditional bread making with Peka. We tasted Marichino liqueur and rakijq. It’s was a wonderful experience and the finished product of our bread was beyond delicious!!!

Very enjoyable morning....
Very enjoyable morning. Hosts were chatty, fun and informative. It was a very easy way to pass 90 minutes. Any day to go would be fine, but on a wet day, this would be a great all-weather activity.

Fun bread making workshop.
Really fun bread making workshop in a small group of 8 people Went with my daughter. Host Monica was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time. Just make sure you check the location - it’s not the one on the confirmation email(in Zadar old town) but the one on the website!

Great experience but confusing address details.
We loved the experience and Monica was very knowledgeable and informative, however the instructions to get there were misleading as one site says to meet in the old town of Zadar and another states it was 15 minutes outside the town. We went to the town address and were told that it was not the correct location. Luckily we had a car but we were late which was totally out of our control. TripAdvisor must confirm the correct location upon booking and not have the information be so confusing. We also did not receive a reply to our email the night before to confirm the correct address.

A must do!
We booked this blindly for our family trip to Zadar and have no regrets what so ever!
Monica was very helpful, knowledgable about bread and the history of the area and very enthusiastic. She was down to earth and happy to get involved as part of the family and it truly made our day!
A lot of the other options in Zadar are focused on the boat tours which makes this experience instead very unique
I would reccomend going and giving this a go! And let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with bread and cheese on any occasion 😊
